Registered 15 years agoI backed the Kickstarter, wonder how long after the release date I'd get the backer edition... -
@Mageme Yep. I went for a physical copy, and am confidently expecting to be sitting there waiting for it to arrive while non-backers are happily playing the game, desperately trying to resist caving in and buying it digitally so I can play it Day One as well .gif)
Hopefully my pessimism will prove to be utter arsecakes, but ... somehow I doubt it
-
Forgot I'd backed this until I caught some newer gameplay last week. Switch version. It looks pretty sweet so roll on getting my key which will probably be in a couple of weeks. -
Yesterday, received an email saying my PS4 physical copy of Bloodstained has been dispatched. Finally! \o/
That same evening, my PS4 decides it's a good day to die. FFS!
2013 day one launch model, nearly 6 years of pretty much daily service, countless hours of gaming, but oh my dear god what absolutely f**king p*ss-takingly awful timing! So cruel it's almost comical

My copy arrived this morning. I've still got to wait until July 3rd to download the "backer exclusive content" that was supposed to be on the disc, although their definition of backer exclusive has changed to "available to everyone who wants to buy it and we'll send you an exclusive bit of cardboard in a few months instead". -

Let me know what you think mate. I've no idea when I'll get my code.

Figured they would end up letting us down with this by using a code. If Limited Run Games managed to make a separate disc for its run of Game Tengoku (with extra DLC on disc over the standard edition) 505 could easily have managed I imagine. Not received min nor heard much about it (I stuck with the risky Switch version in the end (I originally backed for WiiU) and I think that is shipping a little later)

It looks lovely and is very smooth. The first boss is something of a learning curve, but that's probably my fault for wasting my potions. The weapons all handle very differently so you need to learn the best way to attack depending on what you're using. I think I'm going to enjoy this. -

Registered 14 years ago@robthehermit still enjoying it Rob? Tempted to pick it up but don’t want to waste £35 on a ‘nearly game’.
Cheers -

Registered 15 years agoMine is apparently on the way for Switch, although I saw on USGamer that they are having patches already (with issues moving saves between them). Guessing that will be on PS4 but soon I get to see if they did actually fix the Switch version or I chose a clunker
. It's a shame that the PC backer physical will be only complete one as they are planning to hold it back until after all of the stretch goals are released.
I enjoyed what I played of the PC betas though so cautiously optimistic. -
@Lotos8ter Yep, still loving it. It's pretty much everything that people who backed it were hoping it would be. -

Registered 11 years agoWhat's the recommended platform, switch or PS4? Don't mean the portability, more technical? Heard there's a bit of slowdown occasionally on PS4. Anyone confirm/deny? -
Switch version runs at 30fps vs 60fps on PS4/Xbone if that sort of thing is important to you. -

Wasn’t aware of that, couldn’t imagine playing a vania at 30fps. Any comparisons around? -

Anybody playing on Xbone needs to hurry up and finish it, or refuse the update that's coming next week. Apparently the patch to 1.02 changes the open/closed state of some chests meaning that you can't get the required equipment to progress in the game. -

Registered 11 years agoIsn't that a game breaking patch? -
Yes it is. Also apparently it applies to all consoles, not just Xbone, although I think some people have been saying that the PS4 has already had the update. I can't confirm that though.
But yeah, great work 505. -

Could you elaborate on that please? The developers are deliberately releasing a patch that breaks the game?

Registered 9 years agoI think he means that v1.02 is not going to be compatible with pre-patch save files. -
From twitter:
We have been investigating a PS4/Xbox One issue that is blocking player progress in the game. We apologize for this bug and thank you for your patience while we investigated. The issue occurs when a new game is started before downloading the 1.02 update.
After the update, treasure chests will appear in the incorrect open/closed state. Without the items from these chests, progress is blocked.
Players affected by this bug will be required to restart the game with a new save in order to properly progress.
We investigated a number of options to address this issue and each fix requires a new game to be started. Despite our efforts to provide a fix that preserves pre-1.02 progress, this is the best solution to avoid future issues.
Xbox One players will also be affected by this when the patch (numbered 1.00x) is delivered next week. Switch players who will receive a physical copy should download the 1.02 patch before playing.
