Registered 14 years agoBit confused about how it could happen. Am I right in thinking game progression works fine in the unpatched game, it's just a problem with patching a game in progress? Kind of sounds like it ought to be fixable -

Regarding the chest bug that is blocking some people:
Currently there is a bug that occurs on consoles when a player begins a game and then downloads the 1.02 update. The bug puts chests into the incorrect open/close state. As a result, some items that are required for progress are unobtainable.
On PS4, it doesn't affect any backers who are playing on their backer key as 1.02 launched before you got your keys. If you were playing a retail version from launch, 1.02 is already live, so we recommend restarting your game if you are seeing this issue. We do not know if/when an update will be available to fix the issue and retain save settings.
The 1.02 update is not live YET on Xbox One. We are investigating whether we can work out a fix for Xbox to prevent the issue from repeating. Once we know whether a fix is incoming or not, we will let everyone know. We will let everyone know what is up before the 1.02 update goes live.
Multiple Xbox players (and PS4 players who are already past the critical item crates) have asked what happens if they complete the game. Good news. If you complete the game you can convert that save to New Game + or make a new save and you'll be good to go. Just make sure you convert AFTER downloading 1.02.
We will update everyone when we have more info. We apologize for the error. -
Alchemic Bounty may just be my favourite shard.
Don't tell anyone but it's way OP. Need 6 panaceas for shard enhancement, but only have one? No problem, dismantle the one and recraft it. If you're lucky you'll get two. Rinse and repeat until you have as many as you need. -

Registered 13 years agoHaving been a backer and waiting for on switch, where I've heard it runs terribly. I caved and bought it on pc. About 50% of the map uncovered so far and I have to say its just very very average and by the numbers. I was hoping it would stray at least a little bit from the SOTN which is one of my all time favourite games, but it's just SOTN - The not quite as good version. I'm enjoying it it but it's buggy and looks scrappy in parts, I don't know what I was hoping for but it's just an average game. I'm not massively disappointed but I'm not wowed either. -

1. Hold it on boss until it does massive damage
2. Hit them a few more times until dead. -
First full priced game I’ve bought for a while, a proper Igvania is nothing short of brilliant.
Gonna need tips on how to finish it properly though -

Registered 13 years ago@One_Vurfed_Gwrx I've played it on switch and I can sadly assure you it runs like shit. In handheld mode the resolution is ridiculously low and its really dark. You can actually feel the input lag when you jump, and apparently the game is running at 80% speed and I can well believe it. Its completely unacceptable, they only started working on the switch version a year before launch, it shows. The switch version was obviously thrown together at the last minute to satisfy the wiiu/vita crowd.
Hopefully it can be fixed and they'll do the right thing, and hopefully they'll be pressure for them to fix it because releasing as it is, even after 1.01 patch is a joke.

And finished. Well, one of the endings anyway. Going to farm stuff now until 1.02 hits xbone and I can start NG+. My Miriam is a beast.

There's better katanas out there, I just don't have the mats yet. Also, I've got some important yellow shards to get to rank 9, so they become permanent skills/boosts rather than equipped shards (or in the case of my katana boost, both for double bubble). Love this game. -

I recently switched my Hollow Knight physical from Switch to PS4 after they put the wrong version on cart leaving a 1.7GB patch for the game (and saving a tenner in the process). Obviously this one was too late in the process due to KS. I will try it out docked though and see how it is. -
