Also, I wonder if you can use the aim controller with it...

That reveal video got some thigh rubbing stuff in it.

Usually "the same but more" isn't the best selling point for a sequel to me but I think this case will be a big exception.

New weapons is fine but new monsters is huge plus for me and locations too.

Hopefully we'll get more freeform combat to mix it up with the kill rooms and more epic boss fights. I bet you could create something huge reimagining the Icon of Sin for current gen.

Loved every second of that new video. That grapple looked like a great way to add another dimension to the already near perfect combat. Loved the sword thing as well and the shoulder mounted launcher. Day one special edition.

Agree with all posts, day for one for this bad boy. Obviously the gameplay was at a slow pace to let you see all the new mechanics and features in place, especially loved how the bullets were gradually stripping away the flesh of the enemies. I can imagine we're going to see some insane gameplay vidoes from people using that grappling hook.

And that strafe boost move! The player pulled off some lovely moves using that in conjunction with the grapple hook. I'm in love.

Just watched the whole gameplay and I didn't get bored every second of it.

Love the grappling technique on the ground and especially in mid air.

I'd buy a collector's deluxe edition for this XD

I had a stupid grin on my face while watching it. Looks really fucking good. I love the new visual damage effect as the demons take hits.

Yep that new gameplay trailer does look like a perfect sequel, the standout moment being the Tom and Jerry esque head thwomp into shoulders brutal kill.

It looks like it'll still hold the crown in my head for being exactly how every person who doesn't game imagines games to be. Loud, violent with demonic imagery everywhere.

I'm late to the party. Enjoying this have a lot since it appeared on Gamepass on Xbox. I'm loving the violence. I may go and buy Doom Eternal off of the back of this.

Lifted in it's entirety from Unreal Tournament.

@wuntyphyve was a fantastic game? Lol, it still is a good classic game I believe. Even the original one. The graphics on the original compared to the newer versions are like night and day. I know every time they drop a new release that's it's going to be a hit, they rarely disappoint.

    More doom eternal goodness.

So excited, this has put my ass temps into over drive and they were already extremely hot.. Between this cyberpunk and tlou 2 it really doesn't matter if all other releases were bad this year. These three are going to be classics!

I'm becoming more unsure of Eternal as we're seeing more content. Not keen on the story stuff, especially when it looks like knock-off Gears-style macho, gruff, cool-for-a-14-year-old nonsense, and the level design is more Mario than Metroid. It's lost a lot of what I thought the 2016 game did so well.

I'm assuming the combat is still good but the game wrapper around it has all taken a hit.

I dunno about that. It looks like they took what people liked about the last one and gave it an amphetamine enema. The style doesn't really seem to have shifted much at all.

Well, they seem to have added a stronger narrative focus which seems to go against the last ones whole ďdoom guy doesnít give a monkeys about the storyĒ shtick and the robot angel antagonist looks like a Darksiders knock off but Iím sure the combat will still be suitably batshit

Surely the last one didnt have much story because the game was development hell and barely made it at all .

I'd rather not have much story. I actually liked that Doom Guy in the 2016 game would punch out a TV screen rather than listen to lengthy dialogue.

Doom having a story to it isn't something I want in a Doom game. Demons and guns/chainsaws/sharp sticks is all that's required.

You could also have cobbled together 30 seconds worth of plot for a trailer from the first one

From what I've read the 'story' element is massively unobtrusive as in it's not a big part of the game. I think we'll be ok and I think iD know what they're doing m

    @JamboWayOh
Itís obtrusive enough that you go back to your spaceship hub to unlock upgrades, etc, and it has named angel/demon/human characters and cutscenes. itís all just a bit too different to what I wanted a sequel to 2016 to be, which nailed the risk/reward and paced combat without any of that stuff.

The story in the last game was actually a lot more complex than people give it credit for. It was actually a fairly subtle retelling of the life of Hans Christian Anderson and his struggles with depression.
