Ignoring the dull inevitability that someone will feel obliged to say how crap they think the prequels are . . . I bought my tickets today for 7 of us. Front stalls of the Odeon at Leics Sq. It's not the best screen (by a LONG way) but it's the sense of occasion, isn't it. /fights sense of rising anticipation. /remembers Ewoks and Jar Jar to help balance the excitement. |

It's a nice thought, but in my experience of episode 1 and 2, that's when the twats are going to see it again, except this time they've seen it, so they take the piss all the way through.
Just a warning. -

Don't do it ! Don't do it ! He'd probably think it was in-flight entertainment.

Are you serious about that? i thought/hoped this one was gonna be a darker more sinister film. -

The big one? It'll be one of the better screens to see it on if the last SW release are to go by as it's one of the few that'll be fully digital. that and it has one of the better sound systems in london. -

Lucas defends his 'Titanic in Space'

Tearjerker... Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
George Lucas is not worried whether fans will like Revenge of the Sith, the final chapter in his latest trilogy of Star Wars films.
Describing Revenge of the Sith as "Titanic in Space", Lucas said the movie, which charts Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader, was a "tearjerker".
"It's not like the old Star Wars," he told cinema owners at the ShoWest convention. "This one's a little bit more emotional."
He added: "It will be received in a way that none of us can expect. I feel that I've made the movie the best I can and it turned out the way I wanted it to be, so I'm happy.

"I never try to anticipate what the world's going to think or even worry about whether they're going to like it or not. That's not my job, to make people like my movies."
"Obviously, fans would love to see a movie about Darth Vader running around killing people," said Lucas. "I'm not telling that story, and I'm not interested in that. That's not what the movie is."
· Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith is released in the UK on May 19.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS . . . (But not really. Not if you know the first bloody thing about the original trilogy).
He's presumably referring to the doomed relationship between Amidala and Anakin and how it's set amongst this vastly larger drama. The emotional wrench of the baby twins being stolen away (and I would imagine his belief that Kenobi has betrayed him by conspiring in that act, is the final trigger for Anakin's rage) and the end of the love between him and Amidala . . . I'm really looking forward to seeing all 6. I reckon Vader's retribution at the end will be all the better for what happens in Ep 3.
POSSIBLE WOOKIE SPOILER
I was really pleased to see that Peter Mayhew had been cast in the role of Chewie. They could've gone for anyone, but it just feels like they've 'done the right thing'.
Edit: Thanks AnotherMartin. I'd forgotten about the digital projector. I was only referring to the fact that unless you're near the front, it doesn't exactly fill your peripheral vision. Screen 1 at Marble Arch is better for that feeling of immersion. IMO.

). The one at the side is utter utter shit, the screen must be all of 15 feet across. On the other hand the one at the bottom is huge-eo gigantico, i saw starship troopers in there, brill and saw Catherine Deneuve in the bar. -

edit: but only the main screen in that one, never go to any screen other than screen one in that one as the only other screen i have seen in there is tiny.

Registered 20 years agoGot 4 tickets to midnight screening. Been the way I've seen all the prequels. Can't bloody wait.
And judging by the trailer, with at least four jedi being cut down, and the fact there are 5 or 6 lightsabre battles in the film, I ain't worried neither. -

Registered 20 years agoAye. I was bolstered somewhat by that announcement.
/feels buzz
I'm also really looking forward to the emotional story, more so perhaps. The romance in Ep II affected me more then I should probably admit - the love theme is a favourite piece of music now - and I feel a real coonection with the caharcters of the origianl trilog.y And to my mind Lucas has done a good job of keeping the themes going, making me feel for the future importance of those characters.
Lots of lightsabre fights will kickass an'a. -

After looking through the 'Art of' book it it's much darker and if certain things happen that I think may, it'll be a much darker film and an excellent begining to Darth Vader. I have the complete screenplay but don't want to look at it.

I felt completely the oppposite about that, I thought it was the most rigid "love sequence" I've seen in a film. It just looked all by-the-numbers to me, touch cheek, lean in closer, tilt head. Not a lot of passion.

Now, Leia and Han, they show them how to do it properly
