I'm starting to think that everyone in this game is hiding some deep-seated psychological issues, and am now wondering if the big pay-off won't be the revelation that they've all suffered some kind of collective grand mal seizure that has left them unable to operate in normal society. tl;dr: I'm very much enjoying this, nya. |

I think that time travel lecture would have had me weeping into my Dr. P. -

Registered 9 years agoTried to play this last night, so far only about three hours in so not very far at all, bloody fell asleep. So thought I'd play at lunch today, Vita is dead (hoping of lack of battery despite not much use rather than completely fucked, won't find out until I get home though) -

Registered 9 years agoHaha yeah me too, especially after upgrading to the new 3DS recently, could have put those funds to a console that might need actual replacing! I'm sure it's just the battery though...*prays*
The part I'm up to (although I imagine I'll have to go through a bit as don't think I saved in a while before Vita shut down) is when they stick the bananas in the PhoneWave (name subject to change) again and he reckons they've invented a teleporter

Edit: I wasn't nodding off because the game is boring btw, I had a very busy Saturday night!

Registered 12 years agoWhen do you get to make some decisions? I've only got a couple of emails so far. On that note, is there any way to back out of sending an email once you choose an option? I want to see all the replies before deciding which to send. -

Registered 12 years agoIt's a bit of a slow burn at the start it seems. Apparently it starts to ramp up quite quickly though.
As for the emails, nope. But you can save/quicksave at any time, so you can always quicksave and load if you want to. I don't bother myself. -

Registered 9 years agoGood news: Vita was just out of battery
Even more good news: recharging it and booting it up, it was exactly where I left it
Bad news: there is no bad news so this is also good news.
Hooray! -

Registered 9 years agoA good six hours in now, I have to say that this game has one of the best protagonists in any game I have ever played, no hyperbole. He's batshit insane and bloody hilarious with it! -

Also, a mate of mine used to work at one of Rick Stein's restaurants. I don't know why I'm mentioning this. -

Will I be getting a sort of Zero Escape vibe minus the puzzles? -

Registered 17 years agoTime was the lack of 'gameplay' would have put me off. Thing is, the puzzles in VLR ended up being my least favourite part as they got in the way of progressing the story. -

Registered 9 years ago@elstoof I think so - from what I know eventually you start making decisions that will then branch the story off like Zero Escape, not sure if there will be a flowchart to quickly go back and see what other decisions do though.
Got a good couple of hours in yesterday, they've now found the IBN 5000 (I think it's called) and got it back to the lab
Really enjoying it overall. Spend most of it laughing actually at the stuff Rintaro says. -

Registered 16 years agoAwesome. Looking forward to this a lot.
Same here Murbs, the puzzles in VLR dragged and I didn't really look forward to them by the end. I'll still be all over the sequel like a cheap aftershave though. -

Shopto apparently shipped mine out yesterday afternoon, right after I ordered. No telling how long it'll take to get to me, but deliveries within Europe tend to be on the speedy side. -

Had to be amused that some of the licensed goods censoring in the text is outright said in the Japanese speech (Dr.P...) Can be fun deciphering what some of the database entries licensing 'covers' are actually referring to.
It is my current bedtime reading

Further to kinky's question above as to who's gate it is, literally just got an email from a chap with the surname Stein so could well be his gate. Thought about emailing bask asking but he would probably think I'm a twat so decided best not to. -
Just send him an email saying, "What do you know of the gate!?" and then ignore all replies.
Also, speaking of flowcharts, I meant to link this flowchart the other day: Flowchart.
Flowchart.
