Doesnít matter as they are giving it away free, probably because no fucker would buy it. I donít think all that many did the first time lol.

Well, everyone, considering they also announced it would be free.

Glad I kept my 360 hooked up for Sega Rally & PGR4 along with the ability to play my OG Super Monkey Ball Deluxe disc. Not that I ever do of course, but that's the only way I'll ever be able to do so now.

With this announcement, literally every OG Xbox / 360 Splinter Cell game is enchanted and playable at 4K on the X.

Can't wait to revisit Chaos Theory and Pandora Tomorrow.

Pandora Tomorrow works, but Splinter Cell 1 is not installing for me. I hope it's not because I have a review copy. It worked just fine on the 360.

I don't think they legally could sell it - all copies had to be recalled and destroyed. I imagine they've come to some agreement with Epic to just distribute it freely.

I am unnaturally excited to play Too Human again.

I was one of the original 3-member fan club back in the day.

I've still got the disc along with a select few others from the 360 days that I was hoping would become backwards compatible. Enslaved was another one, so yay.

I dug out my old Splinter Cell disc, complete with £45 price tag circa 2002, and my Xbox started installing a 4.5 gig patch which must be pretty much the whole game.

I know it's getting a resolution bump but does anyone know if it's in a 16:9 aspect ratio too? The patch is still downloading.

I'm curious to see how the graphics hold up.

@Malek86 Splinter Cell disc worked for me, only Armed & Dangerous failed the first time sticking disc in.

@Rodney I'd be interested to know that too, guess you'll know soon, apparently my local CEX has a copy in stock for 50p! Will pop along tomorrow.

Unfortunately I had to leave for work while the patch was still installing. Something to look forward to for tonight. I recently played Blacklist too which was okay but just made me want to play the old ones again.

To be honest I think I actually prefer they are supporting the old games rather than making a new one which they would inevitably ruin by shoe horning in modern gaming trends.

Splinter Cell wouldn't work as a "live service" and there seems to be no room for single-player, closed-world levels-based games these days.

@Rodney SC and PT were never widescreen. They only added that in Chaos Theory.

Graphics (Chaos Theory) take a little getting used to, it's such a step back from what we have nowadays (obviously) especially on a huge screen but after a little while I've got acustomed to it and immersed in the game, think I had a 28" 4:3 CRT when I played this originally! :)

Not if if you have a PC in the case of Sega Rally 3 and other recent Sega arcade games.

They run on PC in the arcades and you can use a simple frontend (look up Teknoparrot) to run them, it basically allows you to map the controls and tweak things.

I have the arcade versions of Sega Rally 3, Outrun 2, Sega Golden Gun, Virtua Tennis 4 etc etc all running perfectly on a modest PC.

    edit - here you go:

Going back to 4:3 will be jarring. I did play through these on 360 about six years ago and found them pretty playable still, and they looked alright although admittedly I had a smaller TV back then

Am I right in thinking that the BC programme is paused to concentrate on the next console and its compatibility with BC

Therefore when itís released we can just put any old Xbox game in and it will work without waiting for it to be converted?

@SteveBUK That's not how I understood it, I thought they were saying that the BC team were working to ensure that the currently available games would work.
