    Blimey.

If the thing wasn't so bulky I'm sure they'd give 'em away with Cornflakes next.

My mate who works at one of the major retailers told me the package is on their system. It's an official one from Microsoft as well not a shops own.

According to this story from C&VG, SCEE have no intention of cutting their price this side of Christmas. Perhaps MS upping the ante may cause them to change their mind.

Sony are set to drop the PS2 price in Japan so i'd say a drop in Europe will follow shortly. If Microsoft do release that package they should be set for a huge Christmas. Nintendo should really do a package aswell: Cube - Wavebird, SMS, Eternal Darkness..would be nice:)

I agree with Tyronne. I think games should be coming down to a DVD level price, the publishers would sell more games and this would cover the drop in margins. Will anyone here be doing this?

The problem is that companies like microsoft make their profit in the games and not on the console. It has been like this for years

Oh, looks like my thoughts was right after Krudster hinted it in the SC comments:) All but the DVD controller which may still appear :)

This is a great idea for M$ but i feel there is something extra on this. I just hope they keep the 2 official packs on the shelves as not everyone will want to fork out 200. Someone comes into the shop and has the option for a cheaper pack due to a lower budget should lap it up.

    Roll on sales! :)

Oh dear. I was going to buy SC, JSRF and Sega GT at some point - its tempting to spend a little more and get this bundle instead. How long can a link cable be?

40ish for the console and 40ish for each game.

They should hurry up a bit in officially announcing this, I bet consoles as Christmas gifts are bought every day now. I'd prefer a pure SC/Halo bundle for the price of the Sega budle though. Yes, that's a bit a a tall order, I know.

At this rate they might as well just give the console away and sell you the games. :)

It will be very difficult not to pick one up, the only problem I can see for MS is that bundling so many games with the console itself isn't going to make people rush out and buy any for quite a while. Ah well that's their problem not the consumers.

ssuelid, I was thinking of picking up a second xbox for the same reason. Permanent link set up. The link cables just a standard cat4 10/100 network cable with a crossover unless you use a hub so it can be pretty long. hmmm very tempting.

Cripes! Do you think Microsoft would just give me 200 quid in used notes instead? It'd save them money!

Really? Why? Are you going to buy the pack?...

I know, you're waiting to see if it comes with the green Xbox... To go along with the purple Cube.

Ssuellid, I've used it with a 30m cable with no problems.

Interested to know if you could connect 2 Xbox's via wireless link without need for a PC in the middle and play link up games with your mate over the road.

I have also heard of someone linking machines (not sure if consoles or PC's) via a v long cable thrown over the road to connect two upstairs room based machines. You could hang your washing on it too.

I see the complaints about software price... but do you guys know how that is possible? Only with a single platform, with the whole consumer base under one roof. The higher the user base, the higher chance software price will drop. DVD price my ass--- that's only going to happen once Microsoft finally does dominate the industry. If Nintendo we're to dominate the industry, royalty fees would be incredibly high and 3rd parties would be drained of all hope and capabilities of even coming close to Nintendo's quality in games. But of course, Nintendo will never dominate the industry again because of that reason.

You could use wireless, but it is only 11mbps and The xbox ethernet adaptor is 10/100mbps. Whilst it would obviously work we did get a BIT of lag on a Halo linkup using a 10mbps hub.

-> otto: I know, I know... you're monogameous. Or maybe not - you play PC games too... and love your little GBA... Oh, well, I suppose you just don't like big black beauties. :) (I almost inserted a link here but decided not to...)

    P. S. They would never give you the 200. You could use the money to buy the pack and make them loose more money... :)

    Otto's a mongoose. Cool.

No wonder he doesn't like the x-box. His little paws would be far too teeny for effective fragin'

Otto - If yu did buy this and nothing else then you would help M$ to lose money. So go buy it if you hate M$ that much
