Here. I suspect we'll see a lot more of this kid in a few years time. Truly amazing. Edited by kalel at 16:37:28 19-04-2005 |

So the footage of him in 2001 would make him 6? Yeah right. -
Technicalities about his age and who he is playing against aside, this is still incredible stuff. Those shots he is taking are dead on accurate. They would beat any keeper.
I fear sam_spade may be right, but if he can just stay with it, he will be a sensation. -

Registered 18 years agoHe's a greedy little cunt, has he not heard of passing? Very few or if any of the kids he's playing with will make the grade, so it's quite hard to make an assessment on how good he actually is. The video footage was from 2001 to 2004, but he didn't seem to grow much. Was he 9 in 2001 or 9 in 2004? Steve Watson was like that at school, he could play all over the pitch. When he became a pro he wasn't that good. -

Registered 20 years agoHe's a popular player; the other team members love him look.
/scores
/looks around
/notices everyone's already f..ked off back to their half.
Also, it's not that classy wrong-footing a 9 year old. He has the skill, but it's an easy win each time. I bet when he comes up against someone with equal skill a few years down the line it'll be tears and handbags when he gets shown up a bit.

Registered 20 years agoJust instinct tells me so. Every striker is a selfish bastard, it's how they operate. -
Think these comments about him being greedy are a bit unfair. I remember football at that age just being a swarm of kids chasing after a ball. Positions and passing were alien concepts. -

Registered 20 years agoPfft, maybe it your team son, we were organised at 9 and knew our places on the field.
I still maintain strikers are greedy gets! -

Registered 18 years agoI can imagine playing with him would be a right pain in the arse, never passing the flippin' ball.
I know a guy that thinks he is the next superstar at football, the way he is delt with by the opposing team is simply this: Hack the legs off him. -

That's a bit cynical in it? Becks, Giggs and Owen where all o the radar at 7 I don't think you could hardly say that it ruined their lives
But those guys weren't being sold on the internet, or having news reports written about them by international press. Most people crack under the pressure of being in the spotlight, it depends what his training and his parents are like I suppose. Becks, Giggs and Owen are dull as dishwater, except on the field. If he grows up to be a partyboy, then you can guarantee it'll be over in a few years. -

That's ridiculous.
Edited by JC2 at 17:17:52 19-04-2005
No it's not.
Every striker is a selfish get and it takes a manager moaning at the buggers to finally get 'em passing the ball.
And they'll only do that as a last resort.
How many strikers are you gonna see passing the ball when they're in the 6 yard box? Zero. -

Bergkamp.
..isn't a central striker. He was always more of an attacking midfielder IMO. Sitting off the midfield 4 and linking up to the strikers. -

Wow, he's definitely got lots of talent, but a lot to learn as does anyone at that age. There are lots of times when he ignores passing, as said above. Also, what's with the lack of celebration after a goal? Are they playing weak opposition in most of those showreels? There's only a few goals where he's obviously ecstatic that he's jsut scored.
Despite saying all that negative stuff, he *could* be very good indeed. Still, I knew lots of players at that age, granted they weren't quite as good, but they were good. Puberty stopped them in their tracks, lets see how it effects him.gif)

Hell, just to add one, Maradona perhaps be considered a failure, despite being perhaps one of the two best players of all time. -

Do you know how much drugs that bloke took? In Italy he was on them permenantly, and gaining the pounds too. He still had obvious ability, but unfortunetly he never fulfilled his full potential, not that it ever mattered really. -

For Nemesis...look at Henry.
Edited by JC2 at 17:36:57 19-04-2005
Who started life as a midfielder and winger.
Which is probably why you get such a good assist score with Henry.
Notice, for example, the stats on Johnson from CP. Lone striker. Not many assists.
Henry is a one off.
