Quick question: a friend has an 20" cinema display that they want to plug into a PC. Problem is this display only has the Apple DVI connecotr, so she no worky with the 9800pro in the PC. Question is: /looks at nem Do they have to buy the ADC to DVI convertor from Apple or is there another solution that doesn't cost 70 freaking quid? |

Registered 18 years agoYou can get 3rd party ones but they aren't cheap either. -

Registered 20 years agoIt's a 20" display but it only has a curvy apple DVI connector. The kind with a rounded metal fence that stops it fitting onto the back of a normal card, even if the number of pins wasn't too many in the first place.
Well, all I can say is thank fuck it's not me who has to shell out 70 quid for an adapter. -

If it's one of the new ones then it will fit into any DVI port.
Or is it one of the old ones with an ADC connector?
edit - clarification - if it's a new one (so one with the aluminium bezel) then it can be used with any video card that has DVI out. If it's one of the old ones, so with the plastic bezel, you'll need the ADC-DVI converter.
