Cheers for the info and linkage, kururin. I still think it's getting surprisingly sparse media coverage though. -

Registered 18 years agowell, it certainly isn't getting as much attention as it probably deserves .. but, much more than any previous Troika game at least. -

Apart from the sight of me jumping around the room like a loony upon hearing that the release is imminent, you have missed... nothing. -
Reviews are starting to pop up.
Check gamerankings.
Here's Gamespy's conclusion:
If you go in with the idea that Bloodlines is a hybrid FPS / RPG, you're going to be dramatically disappointed. On the other hand, if you're looking for one of the best role-playing game experiences of this year, then you should really look into Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Congratulations, Troika, on producing a Vampire game that doesn't… um… suck.

its a great game, very impressive, although a reeeeal system hog. hl2 runs far smoother on my rig, V:B seems to chugg.
it seems to be the game that invisible war should have been. -
Hehe, cool, cheers templar! I am pretty sure I'll get this at some point, though it's a bit worrying that you say it's such a system hog.
How far are you in? -

Registered 18 years agoi installed it last night and i intended to 'look' at it for a few minutes.
i only played it for 20 minutes with a randomly generated character, but it seems very interesting and deep. a true RPG from a FP. -

Registered 18 years agoAll the preview stuff points to a mix of Morrowind and DE:IW; not a bad mix.
HL2 is taking a lot longer than expected but this is next on the agenda. -

Registered 19 years agoIt's a good game, well it's half decent, the HL2 engine does not a great game maketh but if you like the Vampire (white wolf style) stylings then this will float your boat. Plenty of scarey undead options muhahaha -

Registered 19 years agoI really hope this gets quite a big release. That way it'll be less walking to get to the store to buy a copy (recent history of online ordering is making me buy games in the store if I want them on release) on Friday.
/is very hyped about a nice new RPG. -

According to the Gamespy review, the combat seriously sucks, but they obviously loved the game despite of it. -

hum? really? .. /looks into review/ I have no trust in gamespy reviewing though. Not too long until I'll be able to make first-hand impressions from it anyway.

Registered 18 years agoMorrowind combat sucks but that was part of a great game, the Bloodlines combat looks a lot better than that anywho. -

But good combat is often the core of a good RPG. -

Can't say I'm expecting much from the combat but from what I've read there are almost always alternatives and limits on combat anyway and so I'll be trying to walk my non-combat path if it is a feasable option.
