Initially. The end is one combat area after another and they drag on for far too long. Seriously tried my patience. I think there's a retrospective on this here on EG. |

And now I feel like playing it again -
I've rolled 5 different characters but never completed it. I always get up to THAT point and think "fuck this". -

Registered 6 years agoCan't find a thread for Bloodlines 2, so thought this one would do.
Bloodlines 2 delayed again, again. Bollocks. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2021-02-23-paradox-pulls-vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-from-dev-cans-pre-orders -

Registered 6 years agoFear you're right. Beginning to think though that my Steam wishlist is cursed - anything and everything I put on there either never appears, is delayed by years, or is complete cack. I feel personally accountable for Empire of Sin and Cyberpunk, and I want to apologise in advance for Evil Genius 2.

At this point I'd be surprised if it ever sees the light of day. I can understand as to why the took it away from Hardsuit Labs most likely because they missed major milestones repeatedly and probably because they weren't up to the task of making a AAA game. For another developer to work from the skeleton of the work that has been done... I don't envy them in the slightest

Registered 15 years ago@JamboWayOh Aye, there's definitely a risk that the cumulative bad publicity and lowered expectations for this result in the publisher deciding to walk away from it. -

Registered 8 years agoWhen a publisher starts cancelling preorders my brain automatically thinks this is being canned. They're most likely assessing if it's worth it to continue to pump money into this based on whatever Hardsuit Labs has managed to accomplish so far. From the sounds of it not a lot. -

Registered 14 years agoWhen they started getting rid of the writers from the original (and more) I stopped paying any attention to this expecting it to only get worse. Getting canned might be a blessing. -

I don't agree with that, plenty of games we think of as some of the best ever made hit huge delays and issues. Half-Life 2, Stalker, Doom 2016, Witcher 3, Halo and so on and on.

Not that I think this'll be quite that great, but it's not a metric I'd judge anything by. -

Registered 7 years agoThe cinematic trailer wasn't great. It was all a bit psychotic malkavian does a terribly animated joker impression. It looked like an Xbox 360 game.
The gameplay reveal wasn't very encouraging either. The combat looked weird with the player character doing odd blackflips that didn't seem to make much sense in the context of the action. The world looked really empty too.
I hope they manage to salvage something decent out of it, but it's not looking good. -
The first one was a quirky, buggy pile of shit, but it managed to hold together as a classic somehow. I remember there was a community made patch to fix some game breaking bullshit. So long as they've managed to retain the spirit of the original, I think it'll be fine.
