I really liked Last Jedi, though by the end I did hear the millions of Star Wars nerds cry out in terror.

The bit where he looks at the sky and says "boy am I glad there's no WARS in those STARS" and then stares into the camera for 28 seconds seems a little heavy-handed.

I kinda liked The Last Jedi, but even if I didn't, I still can't see how this would be any better. At least judging from the trailer.

Looks bang average like pretty much all of the Disney ones.

Reminds me of Kirk in nu trek with the kicked out of pilot school stuff.

Sure it will be better than rogue one anyway.

Still waiting for a really great new star wars films, I'm sure Disney will do it at some point, hopefully episode 9 is dynamite.

That looked... well, possibly fun, but quite generic. of all the modern Star Wars trailers that's the closest we've come to full on Disney's Marvel.

Which I don't mind too much. I look forward to the nerds ragging on it until the 3rd film in the trilogy is released.

    I can't see that unfortunately.

There hasn't been a really great Star Wars film since Empire Strikes Back, to be fair.

I don’t like that you can’t slate Last Jedi without being accused of being a raging neckbeard. It’s a bad film as well as a bad Star Wars film.

I think stating your opinion as fact makes you a bit of a neckbeard.

You have to put "fact" at the end of the sentence to stop it from being an opinion. Fact.

I'll watch it on whatevers. I always like more Star Wars but not going to get super excited and that.

Plus Emilia Clark has not been great in things I have seen her in recently. Which isn't a great amount, but Terminator Genisys's shadow is long and cold...

She is better than Daisy Ridley, and that's saying a lot.

I just see Star Wars as diminishing returns now tbh, I don't think there's enough left of the core Star Wars now to make the Main line movies work. They screwed Poe and Finn over in this last one so there's only Rey and ren left of interest. Also what's left on the line? The resistance is a husk and the first order is run by squabbling kids.

They have major work to do to get it back on track if you ask me.

    Anyway, yay more chewie \o/

@JamboWayOh I really liked Daisy Ridley. Thought EP7 was great and the bits with her and Adam Driver in EP8 were good too, but the rest was just ... disappointing. Mind you I had low expectations for 7 and high ones for 8.

Thought Rogue One was great, this looks... dunno.

Oh and Emilia Clark has been bloody awful in a lot of stuff. Too twee, for my liking. GoT seems to be the exception. Hopefully Ron Howard gets a good performance out of her.

Rogue One is the best Star Wars film made so far

Rogue One is only slightly better than the Holiday Special.

The door in this room is a better actor than her.

QFT. At the least the prequels have the novelty value of being hilariously shit

Rogue One is the cinema equivalent of walking around homebase on a Sunday
  • Deleted user 5 February 2018 20:56:28
Rogue One was awesome, if this can repeat that then... Good. Star Wars past > Star Wars current future.

I enjoyed TFA, R1 and TLJ well enough. R1 was just ace.
