Yes but that is diminishing a bit, now its once a year, I mean I remember the goosebumps when force awaken crawl began. Still got a little giddy for last jedi inside but that time away really charged all of us fans up and it's just another Disney franchise now, which in fairness I'd say they are handling worse than marvel so far.

@ChiefGB I would argue it took them quite a while to get Marvel right. First iron man and the first avengers aside, it wasn't until phase 3 that we got consistent high quality.

Hopefully Disney Star Wars movies will improve in a similar fashion. And honestly they aren't half bad as it is.

True but the way they are going they are only half good, I think they've squandered their best material now as all the oldies comebacks have passed. Time will tell.

Early reactions are out for this film. Apparently it's a blast and although you know what events are going to happen, none of them happen as you'd expect. Guy from /film also very heavily advised against reading spoilers and avoiding them as much as possible.

    Sounds way better than expected.

Edit: Dude playing Han nails it.

It's a blast? A BLAST?!? My, how the standards of Star Wars movies have fallen.

The Chewie red rocket scene sounds a little misjudged.

Yup, followed by the 'proper' reviews being a bit more mixed...

Hey at least some people seem to have enjoyed it, right? Thing is after last jedi I'm judging reviews differently.

I don't understand. You've seen it and don't think it's a blast? Or you don't think "it's a blast" is an appropriate description of praise for a Star Wars movie?

Yeah, I always trust a reviewers opinions over my future opinion. Especially after The Last Jedi.

Seems to be a lot of praise for Kasdan’s script.

Reviews will be out on 15th. Which is still a decent time before release.

Yes, we’ll aware of the usual early reactions frenzy but the ones I’ve been reading are from people who have come out of screenings and said that films were poor, so I kind trust them a bit more.

As for it being a blast and a fun time, what more do you want? Not long till release now.

As a side note, Ewan McGregor was sporting a very Obi-Wan beard recently leading to all sorts of fan boy speculation. He showed up at the primiere clean shaven which drove the fan boys nuts!

It is not enough for a Star Wars movie to just be "fun"! I will accept nothing less than the cinematic equivalent of Buddha reaching enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.

    You pleebs.

I remember the sheer hyperbole from the people's reactions to the advance screenings of TLJ. We've been told we've got a night off from the kids on a date of our choosing, so against by better judgement, I think we'll see this at some point.

It's a cynical Disney cash in. Don't expect Fury Road from the Star Wars universe.

Pretty much. It's like looking a list of one word reviews all written by Paul Ross.

    Also today rather than yesterday.

I hope the reviews go into some detail about the quantity and quality of jizz in the film.
