Anything below 900 million will be a big BIG disappointment for me.

Only thing I care about is how it compares to Terminal (2018)

Apparently there's a post-credits scene that ties it into the Salt Cinematic Universe.

Any word on how it compares to Shawshank Redemption?

    A nightmare waiting to happen.

Hey... maybe Red Sparrow is part of it?

    Sooo...

Some people love it, some people hate it and some people think it’s okay. Seems as though the guy playing Han does a good job and the dynamic between him and Chewie (and Lando) is great.

Sounds ok, but a bit... dull? I'll see it eventually, I guess. Sounds like it could have done with the Lord/Miller anarchy tbh.

It’s mean to be a bit clunky in parts but considered what happened behind the scenes Ron Howard seems to have done a great job. Probably played it very safe but that’s what they need right now I guess.

A word of warning for those out there who emit outraged squeals at the slightest hint of spoilers; The Guardian "review" appears to just be a blow by blow account of most of the film.

There are a few of these out there now. I'm sure they do it just to piss off the fanboys. I usually just go straight to the scores on the doors.

I wouldn't quite go that far but, yeah, avoid if you want to know how the life debt comes about.

Ahh, one of those "reviews". Thanks for the heads up. I don't know how these people who don't understand what a review is manage to get jobs as reviewers.

I've no interest in paying to see the film anyway. I'm one of those miserable bastards who's fallen out with the franchise because of the shambolic writing, yet I've still got this morbid fascination to see how the film turned out.

Deadpool 2 is definitely the one to watch at the cinema currently.

I did read the Guardian review, it is kinda weird how it goes through the plot beats, more so the detail of how Han and Chewie meet. I'm not massively bothered but I could see how some people would be upset.

Long as this constitutes a decent afternoon's entertainment, I'm in.

Sounds more fun and fresher (less of the same old tropes) than The Lest Jedi, at least.

For those avoiding the Guardian review (Peter Bradshaw), he found it very enjoyable, with none of the production woes being apparent. Thumbs up for Ron Howard directing, the Kasdan duo writing, and a strong cast (including Young Solo!!!).

He said it was worthy of a full numbered episode (although what would that be, 3.5???).

Man the comments in that guardian review. Seems there are a lot of people who want the film to fail and have already made up there minds how good the film is.

This is probably the geekiest thing I've thought of, but doesn't a grubby-ish Falcon make an appearance in Coruscant sans central block in one of the prequels? Plus Chewbacca…

Fuck this old shit. They're making a live action Sonic film. Morgan Freeman as Sonic and Anthony Hopkins as Robotnik please.

Kathleen Kennedy has announced a Lando spin-off. Unable to link at the moment.

I think it was RedLetterMEdia who pointed out that, even though the Star Wars universe supposedly takes place in a vast Galaxy with many planets and alien races, Disney can only focus their efforts on the characters and locations from the original trilogy.

    @beastmaster

Not so, seemingly. At least not set in stone.

Update: Premiere has now adjusted their article to say: “Following the publication of our article, Lucasfilm informs us that there would have been a misunderstanding between our journalist and Kathleen Kennedy. ‘We would love to tell a story about Lando Calrissian one day, but it’s not relevant, it would be fun to tell the story of Han and Chewie ...’”
