That instrumental of Paint it Black was awesome, really ramped up that robbery sequence.

Interesting job title in the credits, though: Fly Wranglers.

    @Furtive_Pygmy

The only problem with that was that I immediately thought of this!

Quite liked it. Had an almost Battlestar Galactica atmosphere to it with the robots almost spiritual questioning of their existence and all that Not that BSG was the first or only thing to ever do that, of course)

I hope they explain a bit about how these robots function. As they seem more organic than anything else right now.

I would assume they are going to be sort of like Bladerunner replicants. Biological machines. Biomech.

@anephric that reminds me of a documentary I saw on C4 (I think) way back when... I think it was about brothels and madams etc and one John just wanted his cock and balls grated. That was it....
I remember that, it was a Nick Broomfield documentary. Had a good tit fondling scene iirc.

    Found it. https://www.youtube.com/verify_controversy?next_url=/watch%3Fv%3DTnGP3cWR490

Skimming through, I think it's a different one to the grater scene, which my failing memory is telling me might have been British. Tit scene is in there tho.
I think it was called something like hookers, hustlers, pimps and their Johns.

Must be 20 odd years old now, though. Sticks I'm the memory because there was a woman on there called mistress Scarlett who looked like my mates mum.

Been looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint.

I've had a fear/fascination with this sort of thing for years, ever since I saw Autons on tv as a kid which shat me right up. My biggest fear is being the only human trapped in a world of plastic robots. (Specifically Pertwee era Autons!)

Absolutely didn't disappoint. I'm really impressed. It's hard to say to say more than that as I'm still kind of processing it.

Feeling it's maybe a teensy bit overhyped. Did glimpse a few roobys, but not no raginas.
Seems hard to see how this can run and run (how many eps is it?)

Preach! So many butts... I'm surprised employees aren't going downstairs to creepy storage and having full on orgies.

Then again, why are they keeping defective psycho synths down there, seems to me that they need to be recycled. No good can come from it.

Exactly what I thought, why don't they just melt them up. I did enjoy the beginning which cleverly played against expectations.

In retrospect yes their were definately rarses on show, but only seated ones. That delores was a lovely lassie too. There may have been rotted roobys, raginas and rocks in that ill conceived basement, But I wasn't really counting those.

That was really very cool. Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but was excellent. Really excellent. If that's a phrase.

Only slight annoyances were shouty English guy and unnecessary HBO boobs within about 3 seconds. These were quickly balanced out by Ed Harris though. Everything always is.

Pretty sure the music thing was "borrowed" from Bioshock Infinite, Jonathan Nolan has cited it as an influence:

I was listening to directors' commentary from (video game developer) Ken Levine about building Bioshock Infinite and the affection that game developers and designers develop for their characters.

Plot wise, it's the easy way to get a robot uprising. Instant army, just add water.

It could also be a directive from 'the board' as it's hinted fairly strongly that there are military applications, so they could be shipped off at some point to be soldiers or something.

Seems like the entire place is an off world military proving ground.

It seems like its a deliberate switcheroo for anyone who is familiar with the film/book.

I would imagine everyone expected cyclops to be a dude and the man in black to be a robot and they seem to have very deliberately flipped that on its head

I think the man in black is a definitely a newcomer, but he's playing through some weird ritual to get to, I don't know, 'enlightenment'. Why would the hosts have some weird mandala-like map on the inside of their skulls?

I think the 'cold storage' area, with its 70s American mall look and Delos signs, is supposed to be the remnants of the original park entrance?
