@mothercruncher i was the same after the first 2 eps, 3 and 4 were much better. I'm not convinced they can keep it up for the season but i will push on.

I thought last night's episode was possibly the best yet. I mean, I like the show anyway but that was something else.

It's also spoiling 'normal' TV for me. I tried starting The Crossing on Amazon Prime but GoT and this make mediocre stuff like that almost unwatchable.

Loved last night’s episode. Second best one ever (the first being the one with the Bernard reveal in season 1 - ‘it doesn’t look like anything to me’ and ‘what door?’)

Has it struck anyone else how much Westworld (the park) now resembles the settings of a lot of games? System Shock, Bioshock, Half-Life, Prey, Dead Space, Doom 3 - all of them use the ‘just after everything went wrong’ scenario, and Westworld (currently filled with bodies and madness) looks just like them. It reminds me most strongly of Prey (or maybe Half-Life) in that you get a flavour of everything being normal before it all goes tits up.

The bits with James Delos in the most recent episode immediately made me think of the apartment in the intro to Prey.

Just saw that Hiroyuki Sanada is in the next episode. Just need Tom Cruise to show up

Right. I’m giving episodes three and four a go then and I’ll definitely gently tut at you all if they don’t draw me back in.

You are right! This was a very good episode. Strong performances from Peter Mullan and Ed Harris.

Watched episode 4 last night, agree with the others that it was outstanding, kicked the whole series in to gear. Defo don't give up after 2 or 3.

Yeah, the last ep was excellent. Chilling in places.

Yeah was a great episode. The Delos and William back and forth was interesting, and I don't know if I had just not been listening but I didn't know they were experimenting with putting peoples mind/consciousness into hosts.

Would have been cool if delos was released and went after William. I guess he was too messed up though.

No I think that was the big reveal @JYM60, unless I missed something before as well! Awesome new development.

For me this series needs to do more exposition on some of the other elements such as how they make pond hosts (specifically carp).

@jimnastics it was very somewhat alluded to in the first episode when Bernard asked Charlotte if they were harvesting human DNA from visitors.

Gotta say, asshole British writer guy (I don't remember his name) is still a bit annoying, but not nearly as much as he was last season.

Indeed. Another episode like that and I may have to consider giving the rest of it a body-swerve.

Thought it was great myself. Not as good as last week's but that was one of the best I've seen.

Some of you found that hard going? I thought it was bloody amazing and was surprised how much they packed into it. Can't imagine how you couldn't like that, personally.

It was OK. Thandie Newton outshines Evan Rachel Wood, who seems almost miscast since Dolores woke up.

I really enjoyed the episode, even though it felt like the plots were spinning their wheels a bit.

This show has long since lost me in terms of following anything that’s happening, so I welcomed an episode filled with self contained subplots and sublime action scenes.

It keeps shitting the bed. Last week was excellent, now we're back to plodding bullshit. It feels like they try and finish the show every third episode, almost as if they're surprised they keep getting funding.

I'm a bit confused by the negative reactions. If something like this is seen as the "worst episode yet" of a TV show, or evidence of it having shat the bed or whatever, then we must really be living in a golden age of television standards. Because that was categorically not shit at all.

Is it because (as per nick's comment above) it's spoiling 'normal' TV for people?

I think I'm still invested enough to see where it all goes, but when they rocked up in feudal Japan I was like, "Great, more threads and characters to lose interest in."

I don't think it was the worst episode by a long shot, there was some criminally painful dialogue to sit through in some of the first season's episodes that made this seem sublime in comparison.

It just felt so slow to me.

Admittedly I'm not all that invested in the Dolores story, because I'm not sure how it's supposed to matter. Though I do find it interesting how much she cares about her dad, even though she know he's not really her dad.

But I like the characters, and am interested in seeing what happens to them. And I will never, ever lose interest in characters played by Hiroyuki Sanada and Rinko Kikuchi.
