I thought it was ok, just enough in there to make me give it another episode.

My missus labelled it as "shite", so I guess I'll be watching it on the iPad.

Man from a rival military contractor, trying to find the production area so he can steal the tech.

And they mentioned that the dad had different roles, so its probably from a decommissioned zone. 90s world or something where all the hosts had global hypercolour t-shirts and curtains.

My wife said the same but she was on her fuckin phone for more than half of it. I'll watch it on my own next week.

Both of your wives are obviously synthetics alarmed that this show may expose them.

Throw milk in their faces when they are not expecting it and gauge the reaction.

Same, also Mine had a similar response, in fact it was "trust you to find some shit to make me watch" after I had told her it's meant to be the next big thing.

Thankfully, my Mrs is, in a lot of ways, more of a nerd than me. I described it as 'uhm..... game of thrones with robots?' and she was fully onboard, saying 'that was amazing' when it finished.

Im actually really lucky. With the exception of sport, we have very similar tastes in TV.

However.............................. being a woman, she has no stamina, so its hard to binge watch stuff and it sometimes takes ages to catch up on things if she isnt in the mood to concentrate. The lord gives...

Mine was also on her phone playing Candy Crush. At the end she said: "Were they robots or something?"

I rather liked it and also my missus didn't pay attention. In fact she fell asleep half way into and later said it was boring.

My thoughts are it has potential. Might be quite a slow burner as I feel it  will be dealing with some rather deep themes.  Can't wait till it cranks up the complex stuff,  for me that is that best sort coming out of America these days.

Just to be the odd card, my missus actually likes more genre TV stuff than I do, as I'm a little jaded unless something is RILLY good.

She thought Westworld was great. She'll also watch war films with me. She actually dragged me along to the flicks to see the Magnificent Seven remake, which I wasn't bothered about.

She also likes guns. I think I need to check for a dick she's got hidden somewhere - I think she's been tucking it away sumo-wrestler style.

This drives me mad. One episode and my wife has had enough. How can you not want to watch the next one after X cliffhanger!? Tbf, it's only since kids came along and neither of them sleep much.

Not seen this yet, but sure Mrs Dougs will approve, she's a big fan of the fillum.

There's a picture I took of her on hollipops on a shooting range where she's fondling an Uzi.

It quite literally is the picture you would have in a dictionary to illustrate 'joygasm'. She also insisted I do some slo-mo video of her emptying an entire clip. She was also offended when I got her a 'girly gun' and went back out to get a .357 magnum.

Also, they had bombs outside and there's a pic of her straddling one like it's a huge cock. I think she wanted to send that in to Guns n Ammo or Redneck Slut Wives or something.

You may be right in assuming I only just barely have the dick in this relationship. On a good day. If it's not too cold.

Enjoyed that. Irritating Brit (not AH, although he's annoying too) aside. Sets it all up quite nicely... Would love to know what those who hadn't seen the film made of the opening scene!

    @Dougs

My wife isn't like that. She can binge watch with the best of us. I've known her blitz 5-6 episodes of the good wife in one sitting. She recently watched the 1st season of prison break and blitzed that in a week.

I thought it was okay, wasn't exactly gripped though.

Kinda feels like the theme of AI-as-"life" has been explored a bit recently, and I'm not sure it added much. The man in black is intriguing, but if they drag out the mystery of what he's up to it'll be meh. Good performances though.

Yeah I'm the same. Got me intrigued enough to watch the next one but I don't want a relatively simple premise just strung out over loads of episodes. Very well acted though by everyone and I like the general tone.

    We'll see how it continues.

Second episode is out for some reason.
  • Deleted user 7 October 2016 15:23:54
Me and my missus like mostly the same stuff but it means that I can't generally just watch something when on my own.

I thought the first episode was intriguing enough to watch again. The performance of the Dad was particularly good.

The Ed Harris stuff felt a little bit disjointed to me although I'm curious to see how his story pans out.

Dug the Groundhog vibes and the recurring fly theme. The covers of contemporary songs was pretty neat too. Will watch more but as others have said I hope it either expands out convincingly or is only short. The source material isn't particularly lengthy although admittedly I haven't seen it so it could easily be very dense.

It felt cold, so it's definitely Nolanesque.

Oh, and boss lady: isn't that the Soprano psychiatrist?

Do you mean her? You might have seen her in Borgen. Lorraine Bracco was the psychiatrist.

Edit: Enjoyed it enough to watch another few episodes but I might drop it if I get a sense it's becoming too dragged out or starts trying to be too clever.

@DukeSilver Oh, I was convinced she was the actress that played Del'nn in Babylon 5. They look very similar, to me anyway.

My mistake. Do they look really similar or is it just me?

Me and the wife just watched it and both really enjoyed it. Looking forward to episode 2. Wasn't a fan of the film funnily enough but i liked this.

Found it surprisingly boring which is a shame. I really hated most of the characters, some real overacting in places - the British sounding writer in particular. I'll give it another chance as stuff like this is usually right up my street, so hoping for improvements.

The writer, yes - incredibly annoying. As Dirtbox said, Dolores' father was a stand-out performance, particularly his mannerisms in the interview room. I hope he comes back.

I understand episode 2 was made available early as it would otherwise be up against the next presidential debate...
