Current position, team and points from the latest at the BBC: -

    15 Portsmouth 35
    16 Fulham 35
    17 Crystal Palace 30
    18 Norwich 30
    19 West Brom 29
    20 Southampton 28

All teams on 34 matches except Norwich and Palace who have played 35.

Southampton always seem to pull off a great escape so I'm going for Norwich, West Brom and Palace.

I think of it as more of a demotion these days - massive drop of money and all your decent players piss off.

Wow, I can almost touch the words.

    Palace, plus the bottom two.

Well I hope Souness can take the Toon doon. I'd hate to wait until we lose to the Makems before the twat is sacked. Good news for Man U fans...... They'll be back to winning ways again tomorrow. SMB.

you sir are a typical Toon fan.... ( a complete depressive )

last time you played manu you kicked them out of the fa cub, the game before last man u lost to Norwich, and on the weekend to everton.
No Duncan I suffer from Chronic Depression. Being a Toon fan doesn't help my condition one iota. :)

I'll tell ya whether saints will get away with it after tomorrow. If they can't get interested to beat pompey then there's no chance of getting out of the bottom three.

Personally I hope they do it, but I have my doubts.

I want Norwich to stay up as I like the fact they try to play good entertaining football. Not too bothered about the rest.

Sounds like the Southampton Norwich game is very interesting. Score is currently 3-2 after 40 mins.

    Currently Newcastle 0-0 Crystal Palace

I kinda want Southampton to stay up as I used to be friends with their reserve keeper at school.

However, if they get relegated, he'll probably get all the first team action as they'll need to sell Niemi and he can go sure things up in Arsenal's defense!

A double edged sword I tell you!

Interesting article on the BBC about the relegation battle and the chances for each team. This bit made me smile: -

"Albion would just about have been relegated had they not been awarded a rare visitors' penalty at Old Trafford "

Spurs would be in Europe if one of the four officials had noticed Pendro Mendez's shot go about a fucking yard over the line...

My brother and one of his sons supports Southampton, my sister and her husband support Crystal Palace. Someone's not going to be happy.

I expect Southampton to finally go down, they've been close many times in recent years and really deserve it after appointing a manager that Aldershot Town rejected when they were in the Ryman league!

I'm rather glad I support Aldershot Town and Arsenal, would have been even happier if Aldershot could score bloody penalties...

I think the three promoted teams will go back down, saving Southampton's blushes. It'll be close though - and Wigan in the Premiership? Did I read that right?

What's even funnier is that Ferguson's assistant was moaning after the game about the conspiracy of officials giving penalites against United. Ha.

My money's on Norwich to stay up. They haven't won away all season but Fulham aren't in the best of form and have nothing to play for.

As a neutral - well as a Man U hating neutral, I hope it is Norwich that stay up. Out of the 4 they seem to play the better looking football.

You're right. I saw them play against Arsenal at highbury a few weeks ago and although they lost 4-1, they played some bloody good football.

I'm a Norwich season ticket holder, so I'm obviously backing the boys to stay up! Sadly I can't see the match at Fulham as I'll be at E3!

    BAD TIMING OR WHAT? :(

I hope Norwich win/stay up also as my dad supports them. They are the only team not to have won a game away though all season, so it might not happen :(

Southampton have lost the appeal to get Crouch's red card quashed/recinded or whatever.
