Reserved for all things Mafia 3 so we can stop posting on the Mafia 2 thread. Judging by the reveal info poster, could be set in 70's ? |

I have no time for such bourgeois, also look at the official game poster man!
I'm sure you changed my (correct) spelling of Judgment in the Gears thread title as well...you little philistine. -

Registered 15 years agoI want them to take the gameplay and shit from the Mafia games, and just slap a fantastic Crays/50's London lick of paint on it.
Till then, forever 4/10. -

Looking at that shot has to be the 70's ? I watched a Dirty Harry film a week or so ago with almost the same looking vehicles in.
Is it a New York setting? Google throws this:

Looks like on the other picture from yesterday, they are on the beach... so that could be New Jersey I suppose.

Registered 9 years agoI'm surprised there isn't much hype for this game in the EG community!
I loved the trailer, but the gameplay footage so far? not so much. It indeed looks streamlined and as a result looks any other open world game. I read that they're definitely not aiming for the open-world to be like GTA5, so I guess the narrative is the focus here again, with some side activities here and there. Hope there's more activites to do, as Mafia 2's world just felt empty to be in.
Just realised the old man of the crew is Vito Scaletta! - so I'm psyched about that.
Edit: Read the game details on a neogaf post here

Registered 9 years agoThe first game is a classic to me, must have played it 6-7 times when it released on PC. 2 was fun as well so yeah, excited to have another one in the series -

Registered 9 years agoSo recently realised that Mafia 2 was removed from digital stores for all platforms last year around August time. Most likely due to expiration for music or Playboy licenses. Mafia 1 was removed for the music issue years ago on Steam (despite it only being available on there for a short period of time for sale on Steam, if I recall).
So Mafia 1 and 2 are not available to buy on Steam. What. Already played 2, been meaning to play the first one. What about the people who at least have a vague interest on 3, but want to play either the first two games in the meantime? Physical copy I know, but digital distribution can sometimes downright suck.

Along with Uncharted and after Gears of course this game is my most wanted this year. I loved II and the original on the Xbox. -
Looks like it could be interesting. Hopefully it'll be better than the very lacklustre first two. -

Just to add to this post, just checked my Steam library and Mafia 2 is most certainly there. For those that already own it anyway they can replay.
