That's the size of a lot of games. I wish they'd compress these patches more. If that's the word, I've not been PC for about ten years now.

I'm having real difficultly starting missions.

Too many awesome songs on the radio to start a damn mission!

Ooh baby love, my baby love
I need you, oh how I need you
But all you do is treat me bad
Break my heart and leave me sad
Tell me, what did I do wrong
To make you stay away so long

Oh for god sake, now I'm on the third song sitting in the car next to the mission start icon.

I feel nice like sugar and spice
I feel nice like sugar and spice
So good, so good I got you.

It'll probably be sympathy for the devil next...

Oh ffs it isn't it's piece of my heart, like my fucking favourite!

GTA San Andreas black protagonist I couldn't stand, gta v black protagonist was better but still a bit shit. I'm loving Lincoln and all the other characters around him at the moment.

Finally some decent black characters in gaming. (Okay there are one or two others but they are generally terribly done or over cliché).

All done. That was really rather good. The story and acting were top notch. The environments were well done. Yea the missions got repetitive but overal I stuck with it and enjoyed it. Lane Compton who played John Donovan was fab. The stuff after the initial end credits was cool.

    Hi mate.
Good to hear, I will be getting this week. It is supposed to be supported with good dlc in the coming months as well.

This is very glitchy and plain ugly a lot of the time, ncp's for the most part are feckin awful.
The story and cut scenes are top notch though.
Soundtrack likewise is ace, I did love Psychotic Reaction playing in the bank.
Only just taken over the first "racket" so hardly touched the game yet. The looping sound bites are already tiresome however.

I love the first 2 Mafia games, so far the gameplay in this is the weakest. I''m sure it will improve...

Who can forget the drive through the snow in Mafia II opening.

    @Frogofdoom
That is a slight concern mate, I have been keeping up with the thread and reviews, so understand it is extremely Prince and repeat. I can do repeat up to a point.

Shit fucking auto correct...Prince. obviously RINSE

    ;) please see above.

Apparently the weather "box" in game is atrocious, so you might be right!

The explosives are fun to play with for a bit so there is that. Combine them with the screaming things and you can set up some great traps.

This really is rather crass. Trying to scare Burke by driving like a madman and on three separate occasions Burke has said "are you trying to make the piss come out of my japseye" ...seriously that is the best Hanger 13 can do!

I'm enjoying bits of it but it is not anywhere near as good as I was hoping for.

Nearly a week since my post above and I have put some more hours in. Have to say it has improved and I'm enjoying more. Opened up more of the story and perks now as well.

The constant loop of the ncp's lines is still atrocious and really jarring, especially if you are in an actual mission or gunfight. Graphics stil very average most of the time.

On the plus side as mentioned by myself and loads of other people, the in game movies and cut scenes are really well done and the soundtrack might just be the best licenced one since Vice City.

Certainly looking forward to playing next (tonight) and that is all I ask of any game.

    Salute!

    Ps.
I do agree with Revan re the pointless collecting of the Playboys, this does not offend me and baring in mind I love the work of Megan Rain, Rucca page etal!!!! But it really does not have a place in a digital representation of a game.

Much like porn mags for sale in newsagents. Go to a porn shop if you want a wank...or there is the internet...

I think I'm done. Maybe 60% through, just doing all the missions where you end up killing a lieutenant. Love the map, the music, the characters, the cut scenes but omfg the missions are all the same. I'm fed up with having to drop the cash value by shooting five people in five different locations and repeat over and over and over. Shame..

Really want this but everything else is reducing massively in price while this is holding firm at £38.

I have to assume this will drop in price reasonably soon (2K currently enjoying plenty of sales from a non-R* property) as the PC price has already cratered to around £15 in the sales.

Again I don't see what's so wrong about them. At least they're absolutely relevant to the period of time the title is set in. The game is as adult as a game can get, full of violence etc and you're getting bothered over some arty topless photos?

@Syrette If only it was set 5 years later we could have replaced them all with nothing but Playgirl, right?

No one would have an issue with that, for sure.

Those were my favourite collectables in a game for Mafia 2. Personally, I thought it was interesting to see what Playboy mags were like during that period of time. And it's softcore imagery for goodness sake. /shrugs

I need to find a YouTube video of all the cut scenes as I'd like to see the story through but I wasn't willing to go through the hours of missions to see the end. Possibly the best licenced soundtrack ever. I constantly have it on Spotify.

Started playing this a bit more over the last couple of days, need a break from getting murderdeathkilled on Gears all the time.

Defo enjoying it more when played for hour tops at a time. The graphics and glitches are truly awful however. I am actually stunned at how poor the game can look, playing on xb1, but I understand all ports are very poor at times.

I have unlocked the cool in the goons perk, which I like when going after a prime target. Still very jarring that during gameplay Clay is a super cool bald dude in shades and leather jacket and yet in cut scenes he is back in Army gear!

I doubt I will play post credits and have no real interest in dlc but I'm sure I would have got my enjoyments worth.

I loved Mafia 2, would you say to hold of Mafia 3 to it gets cheaper?

    @Hairy-Gorilla
    Sorry only just seen this.
I'm enjoying it, after my initial misgivings. A lot of what I said stands but it is a good action game with some satisfying gunplay once you get access to some weapons.

It is not as good as II, but yes I would get it. I paid £25 (xbox) happy with that. You can prob get for around £20

We also got free dlc today, which is always nice. Cars, clothes and races. :)

Ugh. The update includes one of my pet hates: racing games shoehorned into an open-worlder.

It looks decent enough on Pro, and I have no idea if it's been Pro-patched or not cos I can't be fucked to do a side by side with the old PS4..it's not really the graphics that's the issue, it's the fact that it's just inherently dull somehow.
