    Morning people
As title suggests especially interested, why ? just because :) in EGers who own both consoles. Reading through the PS4 and XB1 threads over the last couple of days and people are starting to really favour one over the other or at least finding more faults with their own choice.

Are you happy you "jumped ship" or are you thinking of joining the "competition"

Are PS4's terrible download speeds, price increase for such a shoddy service, pad durability, very poor release schedule, loud console ect starting to make you wish you had not bought . All do you gloss over all that due to being able to play (in the most part) the best version of any game on your console.

Are XB1's terrible pre luanch and T&C's. The console does look butt ugly to some, Games not being in 1080 (as if I have a clue!) same old games with a new number at the end.. starting to make you wish you had not bought.

I have had both machines and use both daily, well the ps4 weekly and enjoy owning both but the winner is without doubt Xbox for me, obviously I'm out voted at least 2-1 in the gaming world. I think it is a shame that Xbox got off to such a terrible start as I think over the past few months and the coming months it is totally THE console to own, if you were buying today.

Anything under 1080p makes my eyes literally bleed, so the PS4 obvz...

EA access and the better handling of free games (you actually own them!) would probably swing me towards the Xbox One to be honest, but even after I buy one I think I'll still be using the PS4 as my primary console for non-exclusives...

Ps4. The sales difference is still huge and that potentially down the line would equal more exclusive games for ps4. Maybe. Plus nearly all games run slightly better on ps4. Plus ps4 future wise has maybe double the amount of exclusives I am interested in. Plus more of my friends have the ps4.

I jumped ship from my beloved 360 to the PS4 and can't say I've regretted it in the least.

I still don't find the online bit as seamless as the 360 was, but I have no idea if the XBOne carried that goodness over? I play so little online these days that it's not really a thing.

PS4. More games coming out that I'm interested in and more powerful. If I could do it again though I wouldn't have bought either until about 6 months ago as there really was nothing worth playing imo for quite a long time.

I've ended up retreating to Wii U as my only console, and all I really miss is Destiny and Diablo 3 from my PS4.

To buy either now Sony would have to release a guaranteed silent version and Microsoft would need to drop the price a LOT lower to offset the fact that even by the standard of the underpowered PS4 their box is a joke.

I think anyone buying either console next summer is probably going to enjoy the sweet spot. They could cherry pick the few "must have" games from the first couple of years and look forward to running into Christmas 2016 which should hopefully see some more interesting and innovative game releases.

Sorry to be "that guy" but not buying either because neither console has games that interest me enough to justify it. Most of the must-have titles I've already played on last gen or can be had on PC. It's still all a bit meh (for me) and I doubt that'll change anytime soon.

as i have recently brought a one, i am currently enjoying gaming on it alot more (shiny shiny), looking ahead, my exclusive pre-orders are 3 to Xbox, one wii u and none on PS4

edit; pre orders this year, PS has some fantastic games coming out in 2016 - looking at you persona 5

Why does everyone keep saying that the ps4 has a poor release schedule?! Sure, if you're only in it for the exclusives, then there's not a whole load of stuff coming out, but there is enough third party support to more than offset that.

I own both but if I had to pick one right now it would be the xbox one no question. I personally think it has a better line up of games and seems to be evolving more with regular system updates. The power thing really isn't an issue. Yes a lot of the multi plats look better on the ps4 but unless you had both running side by side you wouldn't notice.

Really enjoyed my PS4 so far but its got nothing of worth out until 2016
  • Deleted user 12 August 2015 09:25:08
@MrMattAdz i think becuase you can buy 3rd party games on either console (though ps4 performs better) it is the exclusives that determine which console you will buy. Now bloodborne was worth the price of admission alone but outside of that, i struggle to see what exclusive must have game PS have released
  • Deleted user 12 August 2015 09:26:39
and EA access is fantastic value for money (atm), sony really missed a trick with it

@Grax yeah that's probably fair enough tbh, although there's nothing on xbox exclusive wise which has made me think "I need to buy this console" (though that's obviously not a universal opinion). I've been more interested in third party games lately and as they tend to run better on ps4 that would influence my decision more.

    Why?

I was actually thinking of buying a xbox one the other day, because I felt like getting a new toy, looked in to it and genuinely could not find a compelling reason.

went for ps4 and don;t regret it for a minute - got an xbone through work 5 weeks ago and it's still sealed in the box...the only reason i'll open it is when i;ve got to start prepping for how i'm going to use it at school...having read up and checked lists, there's absolutely nothing i really fancy playing on it that i haven;t played on ps4, no exclusives are inspiring me, and then there's more on ps4 i can't play on the one...in fact, the only reason i may crack it open at home is for the new tomb raider...

oh, and my machine is silent with everything, my broadband is too slow for psn speeds to be noticeable and i;ve had no problems with my pad so none of those are a neg for me anyway....;)

If I had neither and had to choose, I'd go for a PS4. It's just the better value for me, what with owning a PS3 and Vita for PS+, being able to be used as a media player over network from my PC seamlessly, Spotify able to run in the background and pretty much every feature I could of wanted from a console.

Seeing as I already have one though, I'd have to say... invest the XBOne money in a graphics card/bits for the PC and mug off buying one, because it doesn't offer me anything drastically different (aside from a couple of exclusive games) than I already have on PS4.
  • Deleted user 12 August 2015 09:27:59
If I HAD to choose, I'd probably pick the Xbox, simply because I would want to try IP like Forza that I never got around to play because Playstation was my platform of choice over the past decades, and because the PS4's catalogue is just so bland (apart from Bloodbourne which I'd be interested in).

Not willing to own 2 (or more) active consoles because I think one main console in the living room is more than enough.

I prefer the xbo but mainly down to controller plus the US Xbox store which is so easy to buy from. Other than that there isn't much to chose between them.

PS4 is more powerful and the interface is cleaner and quicker. Hopefully MS sort out the slow friends list etc. In the new dashboard update.

When the Xbox One drops below a couple of hundred quid with a game that I really want to play then I'll pick one up but in the mean time I've got far too much to play on the PS4 to be too concerned.

    Wii U.

I've been really disappointed by the games released on the ps4 so far. Aside from blood borne, and batman arkham knight...everything has been a bit meh. Witcher 3 was great for 20 hours, then it just turned into another fetch quest go to the icon game. But the games released so far feel distinctly average. I must admit i have yet to play the likes of Shadow of Mordor, and Alien Isolation. I'm not fond of open world games in general - and i'm bit flummoxed why every game has to be open world these days.

Been a fair few great indie titles, Resogun in particular.

Not sure if it just me and i need a break from gaming for a couple of months or things are that average.
