So this is out next week but doesn't seem to be many talking about it.. Looks like a sleeper hit to me so keeping an eye on it. Anyone pick this up?

Yup! Mine's all pre ordered up with Amazon after I traded in some old shit before they ditched it.

Can't wait. Avalanche haven't let me down before. My only reservation is the reliance on melee/brawling over ranged fighting, but we'll see I guess.

Yup. I thought they would have bumped it forward a week or so to get the jump on metal gear because launching now just sounds like a disaster and a sure fire way to miss sales. If it was out last week is probably have bought it at least to tide me over until MGS. But now I'd end up either having to rush through it over the weekend or start it, then MGS comes and takes my attention away and then I never go back to it... Or by the time I do, it's reduced in the shops and I'm kicking myself for not waiting.

I like the look of it but like others have said, awful time to come out. Will pick it up when its cheaper more than likely.

I'm interested as I'm not getting MGS but where are all the reviews? Hopefully we may see some tomorrow.

I watched about 30 minutes of gameplay from an 80 minute gameplay clip on PSlifestyle the other day, the map looked huge, melee combat looks like arkham style but I didn't like the look of the counter prompts hopefully you can turn them off. I didn't see much car combat and hardly saw any guns which was slightly disappointing.

Yeah silly move releasing the same day mgs. I'm more inclined to play this tho as haven't got the patience anymore for mgs.

Just read though it's native 1080p on both consoles, that's a surprise. May grab this on the xbox this time.

The history of poor quality film license adaptations makes this game somewhat invisible.

Even if a bunch of forum muppets say it's good I'd still be skeptical, the number of decent games licensed from films is close to zero. Actually lets just say zero, nobody plays Golden Eye anymore because it aged so badly.

@Cappy Shadow Of Mordor came out to a similar lack of hype and ended up being pretty boss... but yeah this one is massively off my radar at the moment. Doesn't help with MGS coming at the same time, and also Destiny DLC pretty soon if that's your bag.

It sure looked impressive when I saw a live play last week. It may get rather repetitive though, but the car stuff looked cool and fitted with the style (very much pack hunting by the ai groups), the hand to hand fighting looked absolutely brutal which could prove very satisfying but I don't think there is much more apart from some very light puzzle exploration and collectables in camps etc. There might be racing of some description which could be exhilarating.

It's certainly jumped on my radar to pick up by Xmas if decent. If it's cheap that will be all the better but it really needed reviews out now because yes it will get lost under mgs .

I really enjoyed RAGE. My main issue was simply that the story went absolutely no where. You felt like it was building up to something then.....the credits rolled and I was like "WTF!?!?"

Really solid mechanics though and I loved the visuals even though they came in for some criticism at the time.

On topic, Mad Max looks really good but it's nothing I want so bad that is buy without a review first.

From all the footage I've seen, Mad Max looks to be Shadow of Mordor with cars, done by Avalanche.

And I can get behind that 200%.

I've got my preorder in with simplygames. They sent me MGS V today - which I've put about three hours into. It's great, but I'm more interested in grabbing this.
