| One game where I'd have been happy for some DLC or expansions, but they don't seem bothered. Considering that it seems to have had a better reception than JC3, that seems odd. Just one little tweak to allow unlimited Convoys would have been nice post-finish content, and surely not a HUGE investment in man hours. |

Registered 15 years agoGot it in the humble monthly bundle and was worth the price alone...
I haven't finished it yet (though I think I'm at the last mission anyway) and am currently purging the land of the Scrotus hordes...
As for the convoys I would have liked some with massive trucks as well as just a small truck and protector cars...And possibly one going across the whole map...On some of the regular convoys after getting too much damage I stopped to repair and then head in the opposite direction for a nice head on crash...

Registered 7 years agoWhat the... Just found out my laptop CAN run this game despite not meeting required specs. How is that even possible?
I have only 4GB RAM and it needs 6.
Anyway, will try and see how it runs but the intro seemed sort of ok... -

Registered 15 years agoBeen playing this recently. Like much of you all, loved it at the start and then quickly got bored of the grind. Focused on story missions instead, which are fun, but every so often it comes to a halt with stuff like 'get 900 scrap' or 'lower threat level' targets.
I've just done mission 11, think I'm almost at the end. I've heard the ending is good - worth continuing for it? If it's more than a couple of hours I probably won't bother... -

Well, it's an apt ending for the character and the story but maybe not worth your time if you're not enjoying it that much...
Can't remember which mission is 11, but I do remember the story being quite long, so you might not be quite there? -

Registered 15 years ago@AcidSnake I am enjoying the story, I think I've just burned myself out on the open world stuff (so it's a little my fault I guess). I've just faught Scrotus and need to go find Hope in the underdune. -

Registered 15 years agoHere's a question, not seen/played either yet, but want to. So movie or game first? -

Registered 15 years agoThey're not really linked at all, but there's a bunch of surface similarities to the film in the game.
So probably the film first. Also, the film is FUCKING AMAZING. -

You're not there yet in that case... I'd give the story another few hours to see if you like the direction it goes...
@mrpon:
The baddie in the game is the film baddies' son... But it's never mentioned again or has any impact on the story...
I'd say film first -

Registered 15 years agoCool - will do!
Think if I just focus on the story I'll be fine. Burnt myself out doing far too much in the first area! -

Registered 10 years agoThis was a great game to dip back into, so much side stuff but it's fun in its own way. I may jump back in tomorrow and remind myself. -

Registered 16 years agoStill slowly enjoying this game, not very far into it still but a nice game to spend a bit of time on plodding away at the endless icons on the map. Just trying to get scrap collections for the strongholds until I'm bored but thank fuck for cloud saves. -
I've had it for about a month, and it is a nice game to dip into for an hour. It's just so repetitive. If they'd have just given a 20 hour story with a few camps I'd have been happy, but this feels like a good 40+ just trying to chip away to upgrade your car properly. -

Registered 16 years agoFinally finished this tonight, really enjoyed the run up of the story after what seems like months of pissing about on and off. Story wise I didn't expect much and forgot it had one but things happen and reminded me its a Mad Max game. -

Registered 17 years agoFelt the urge to go back to this over the weekend, fuck me it has some great audio (not the music, that got muted and I play my own) and generally it's still a very decent game and the repetitiveness gets sort of hypnotic when it's accompanied by the sound of a V8 turbo.

Fuuuuucking pretty too

Started playing this the other day having picked it up when it was on sale a few months back. It's a bit good isn't it

Registered 17 years agoIt's just a same it never goes anywhere in terms of all the bosses being the EXACT same and stuff.
The highlights for me were the convoy chases, loved those -
Those screenshots bring back great memories. Still one of my favourite games this gen. -

Registered 16 years agoTook months of playing it a hour at a time but well worth it, forgot there was a story at times but slowly chipping away at the icons got me through it.
Havent gone back but tempted to instal it again for a drive. -

Registered 14 years agoThe problem with this game is you have seen near enough everything it has to offer after the 1st 3 hours. -
Didn't have that issue. The gameplay was open enough I could play for hours, each base or convoy chase was different. There was a progression to Max's powers. The story missions were sufficiently varied.
I think the atmosphere and setting was what sucked me in. The game had obvious shortcomings with the combat but weirdly I preferred this to many other technically better games. -

Registered 10 years agoI think generally the engine ran fairly well, looked fairly decent and it was all pretty visceral in and out the car. The combat was a bit unpolished but that was part of the charm and it got away with it a little because obviously he wasn't as graceful as batman etc. -

Registered 10 years agoNot like I haven't got 1 million games both new and old on my backlog, but I might just reinstall this later as I've had it since launch yet still probably 75% through it. -
@ChiefGB
althought the game doesn't do anything new at all I think it really nails the atmosphere of a desolated wasteland and if you follow the story to it's conclusion...it kind of works
