    I wonder if GAME have broken street date for this, I'm going in to trade some games for Until Dawn today , unless it is out.

    I imagine it'll (hopefully) be like Shadow of Mordor - good fun, in an uncomplicated way. The gameplay videos I've seen look entertaining.

    And I can get behind that 200%.
    I really hope it is this years shadow of mordor as that really surprised me last year and I enjoyed it a lot. From what I've seen from gameplay it looks good. I'll probably get it on xb1 as it will be around £16 apiece game sharing .Got plenty to play with gears and metal gear so it will have to wait alongside until dawn.

    Tina Turner cheated on me in the Thunderdome. Like MC Hammer once said. "My baggy trousers can't touch this."

    I kind of liked what I saw in the videos, apart from the map filled with literally hundreds of icons.

    Absolutely.

    Can't see how it can go wrong, really.

    I suspect it won't be terribly "dense", but neither were Just Cause 2 or Mercs 2, and they were up there with my very best of all time, and I'm getting those kinda vibes from this.

    Plus, I think the Shadow Of Mordor references may be spot on; I reckon they had a little gander at that and incorporated a few bits and bobs in here.

    Can't. Fucking. Wait. I have a penchant for adoring 7/10 open world games.

    I watched a good chunk of the Twitch stream from Pax last night that showed a bunch of in-game footage as the (I think) PR guy described what was happening while someone else was playing it. Came VERY close to pre-ordering via one of those cheap keys BUT I think I'll wait to see how the PC controls are handled. If I can easily use a controller to drive and a mouse to aim then I'm sold.

    At one point the guy is driving Max's car from a first person view, a raider vehicle pulls up alongside him and one of them is about ready to jump across to his car, but Max pulls out his shotgun and blows him away. Looked awesome. Maybe not so much after the fiftieth time you do it but it was really cinematic.

    It's an AWFUL lot like Red Faction Guerilla, insofar as you have regions that have to be pacified, convoys to hunt down and a bunch of stuff to collect.

    Batman Arkham, Shadow of Mordor and Mad Max are all Warner Bros. games. They don't "take a gander", they talk to the teams. It's why all the WB games have the same combat systems.

    Oh damn! ANOTHER not very brilliant open-worlder that I fucking adored!

    EDIT: Just seen Derbs post - fair enough, good point. It's only Batman that hasn't really grabbed me for some reason. I just find there's too much shit for my middle-aged brain to remember.

    @Juz Oh damn, you must've loved Spiderman 2 on the PS2/Xbox Original back in the day then :D

    I'm with you though. Open world, free roaming, make your own shit as you go games are fantastic.

    This and Just Cause 3 will keep me very happy over the next few months.

    @Rivuzu

    I think I actually had Spidey 2 for review at the time, so never got to play it at the leisurely pace these kinda games deserve.

    Fuck the rest of the haters - we'll just get each other hyped up for Mad Max.

    He does look an awful lot like Nathan Drake in the vids, though. Quite a few of em popping up on Youtube now...

    There are two possible explanations for that.

    Either we've all come to associate "Rugged Caucasian Protagonist" with Nathan Drake, because they all look the same (racists! Not all whiteys look alike!) OR it's a glitch in the matrix and the machines are running out of archetypes for their agents.

    I loved RF:G and thought at the time we would see lots more games using that engine. Still love watching those huge buildings and bridges crumbling down.

    Ditto. Think this and 1080p/60 were both things we were assuming were gonna be the norm. I was, anyway.

    @jaangus Most definitely the former.

    MGS pre-orders arriving on Wednesday, nearly a week ahead, from Simply but no word of my Mad Max?

    I SMELL DIRTY BIAS.

    This has gone totally under my radar. It looks pretty intricate but I'll wait for reviews I think.

    It's Avalanche.

    The reviews will be mediocre, but if you played Just Cause or Just Cause 2, you should know exactly what you're getting into.

    @AceGrace pissed off I had to wait to order it as it was 33 quid on Wednesday. Did you get it on ps4? If so I assume tgc was cheaper than simply?

    @AceGrace thanks mate I got the tesco ps4 bundle and was waiting for that to turn up as it was a glitch to get bloodborne free and I already own an xbox one so couldn't decide which to order it for.
