| @jaangus Well, so nice, buy it twice... I've just ordered with TGC as well. So I should have TWO copies turning up. I can sort you out for a copy when I get whichever loses the race. |

Registered 14 years agoHeh thinking about it, they presumably haven't sent it as they haven't had the delivery from their supplier. -

Hmmmn - wonder if my Amazon delivery will arrive on Tuesday?
All other games from them have arrived on the day of release, but I wonder if the BH will fuck em up? -

It was cheaper too, infuriatingly enough. -

Registered 14 years agoI'm looking forward to this, and if gameplay and performance impressions are decent, I'll be picking it up on PC next week. This is probably a bad idea, as I'll be getting MGS V and I am still playing the hell out of The Witcher 3, but I'm weak willed and I wants it, damnit! -

Registered 11 years agoWell, it's half 10 on a Friday night and I've just had my despatch confirmation from Shopto.
Looks like I'll be playing Mad Max on Tuesday then.......
Also, has anyone managed to find any reviews (or literally anything!?) for this game yet?, I can't remember the last time a major game release was so poorly marketed...... -

I have faith in the studio, that's all. Not played an Avalanche game where I've not immensely enjoyed it. Love open world games. I've always enjoyed the source material. I've watched about an hour and a half of gameplay footage, and it definitely looks like something I'd enjoy. Why wouldn't I pre-order?
Why are people preordering a game that they haven't even read a review for, or have any idea if it'll be any good?
Are you all really this stupid?

I have to agree with this. However I choose to preorder for the cost benefits, it's often far cheaper to bite the bullet on a good deal (some sell preorder for a good 7,8 quid less than a supermarket will) as you'll rarely lose money on it by reselling.
Because it's been proven time and time again that pre-ordering games is bad for the entire industry, it's customers and it's developers. The only people that benefit at the publishers. -

Unfortunately I lack the ability to dissuade millions of gamers globally from pre-ordering, and the industry doesn't give a damn. Nor do I think you being a grump is going to help matters either :c

So why should I stand against it? Yes, it'd be nice for games to be released in their perfect form, but that isn't what the industry is anymore. I might as well stop playing games entirely if I chose to live in such a perfectionist ideal.
Besides, it's Avalanche, ayyy lmao. -
I don't tend to read reviews anyway. If I like the look of a game I'll just buy it. I'll watch a stream or some YT footage and if it appeals it's bought. If a game ends up not being all that then I'll chalk it off as a bad purchase and move on.
I've seen enough of mad max now to know I'll enjoy it. At a cost of £15 its definitely worth a punt. -
