QT7 is a big big disappointment for me. I hope Apple are planning to put out 10.4.1 out first thing on Friday. Minimising a playing movie (of any supported format) will send freez the player in the dock with the sound continuing to play. You can't maximise it again and can only quit the application. Such a big obvious bug on a clean install of Tiger is disappointing. |
In other news QT7 is buggy as hell!

Just put it to the test on a wee QT and an AVI that I had laying around, and managed to replicate the issue with both. Pretty bad! -

Registered 20 years agoYeah .... the QT problems have been confirmed by a few others. Also, it doesn’t seem to stop the screen saver from coming on. In addition, it won't go full screen if you have duel screen setup and want it on the secondary display. It will only go full screen on the primary one.
Fucking shoddy!
The Finder is MUCH improved though. For example, files update quickly! You don't have to wait half an hour for a file to show up in a folder even though you know you just saved it there. -

Registered 20 years agoYeah Otto ......... unfortunately this is how it is for me. Perhaps it's a bug specific to my PB model but I connected it to a TV the other day and it wouldn't go full screen on the TV.
I suspect it might work if you set the display settings to mirror instead of span. I didn't try that.
Khab, I already have PC ....... like mouse said I take one or two things not working over a lot of things not working any time.
Apple has until tomorrow before I get really frustrated. After all, we aren't really supposed to have Tiger yet. -

Registered 18 years agoJust been watching some of the HD format movie trailers at quicktime.com the quality is absolutely superb. Although with each trailer weighing in at 120Mb I don't think I'll do that again, ever. -

I have a 100Mbit internet connection in my room. I'd love to be able to watch HD trailers, but I can't as I don't have a mac and therefore don't have QT7. When will it be on PC? I want HD trailer goodness before I go home for the summer and lose my uberfast internet connection. -

In other news, I hear that the Finder no longer falls over gasping when it can't find the codec of a movie file you've highlighted. So that's nice. -

You're kidding?!? That's fucking out to lunch! My main use of QT is to play full-size movies on my TV, outputting from the powerbook! You're saying it won't go full screen on me any more??

Man I've heard some bad things today. That's one of them. Another one is that the other big thing I was really anticipating with Tiger, H.264 videoconferencing with iChat, will only work with a dual G4 or G5! Which I haven't got!
Not a happy bunny. >
