It's good. It's a little bit sweeping, as it has to be really, but it really captures the story well and the main cast are surprisingly good. A shame to see MC Ren sidelined but I can understand why they did it.

I understand its a reflection of a very male musical force, but the misogyny reeks at times, and the film does nothing to distance itself from it.

I want to see this but i think I would look out of place in the cinema as a late thirties white male in my town, despite the fact I could say I was around at the time of it all.

I saw this last week and was very impressed.
The two performances that stood out were ice cube's son and 2pac's.

The kid playing 2pac is scarily similar looking and I heard that he is going to play him in a upcoming 2pac film.

I think it would have worked better as a 5 part tv series as 2 hours just isnt enough time to tell the NWA story.

Yeah I saw it, more or less day 1 in fact... someone's not been checking the movie review thread!

It's a good film with a few annoying but mostly understandable omiaaions. The feud between Eazy and Dre for one - it's touched upon, but I don't recall even hearing Dre Day/Real Muthaphuckkin G's. I mean, come on!

Yeah I really enjoyed it, but sanitised is exactly the right word. It paints them as a bunch of decent kids just trying to make music when the whole world is against them. There's a lot of gray area in NWAs history and it could make for a really interesting story, but they didn't have the balls.

Still would recommend it though, and Ice Cube's son just blows my mind, I'm pretty sure Cube did a Jango Fett and just got a clone.
