Lucas Radebe a true sporting hero.

Just a quick post to celebrate the forthcoming testimonial of Lucas Radebe, one of the few remaining loyal, genuinely heroic sporting heroes actually left in this day and age. 'Cos obviously Lucas reads Eurogamer!

I wouldn't normally call any sportsman heroic but any informed Leeds or football fan would know that he is indeed a bit of a hero and deserves a lot of praise and all the plaudits he gets.

Click for some information and a bit of history.

From growing up in Apartheid Sowetto to reaching the Champions League Semi Final and then the ultimate near destruction of his (and my) beloved football club, he is a worthy hero and a gentlemen and I for one will be sorry to see him retire.

    Thanks for the memories Lucas.

Oh and I forgot to mention it's his testimonial on Monday which promises to be a star studded affair featuring such Leeds greats as Strachan, Batty, McAllister, Speed, Yeboah and the great man himself as well as Vinnie Jones Jay Jay Okocha, Juan Pablo Angel and load of others.

    Anyone else going?

Yes, he's sound as a pound is Lucas. He's a long time campaigner to rid football of racism, and has done more for the cause than anyone else probably. Felt sorry for him during the whole Lee Bowyer/Jonathan Woodgate incident.

Anyway, yes, a geezer for sure.

"Radebe will give all the proceeds to charity and wants to raise £500,000."

What a top bloke! Definately someone who many should look up to, both in football and out.

He is a true Leeds UTD legend, I hope he gets a sellout for his testamonial. I hear he is planning on playing in Leeds`s last game of the season against Rotherham, then he will retire.
I hope Leeds get a pen and they let Lucas take it!
