Apparently it's more secure than the perfect security of contactless, because apparently the merchant only gets a one time code, not your card number, so if they're hacked nothing happens.

Still not going to buy an iPhone myself, of course.

    Edit: @Richardiox
Needs to be cleared with a fingerprint too, so even if someone has your phone and the passcode they can't use it to pay for anything.

I use it quite a lot because it's quick and secure, and the fact that the transaction appears in the wallet app immediately rather than having to wait for the bank to clear the transaction on the credit card makes it easier to keep track of things like how much I've spent when I go out. Just a little more useful at no extra cost.

Not sure if I'd mind. It'd be harder to lose a hand than it would a wallet.
Thumb print analysis. You'd do well to lose all three
With all these bioscanning methods, you'll still need a way to establish which account you want to use - which bank account, cerdit card etc. I've got 2 bank accounts, company account and 3 credit cards so simply sticking a body part in a scanner won't be enough.

Maybe swiping some sort of "card" before you poke your eye into the retina scanner is the perfect solution??

    Multipass.
Yeah, multipass, she knows it's a multipass.
Just had a look at this. It's another pay as you go job. So for people with annual travel cards not much use.

    Nice idea tho.

A lot of people insert Nfc chips into their fingers etc now.

@richardiox In the US at least, there's no limit on the purchase price.

    Would suit me, as I
    1. got excited about contactless cards, then
    2. took it with me only to have almost all purchases be just over the limit, and finally
    3. leave it at home all the time nowadays.

Thing is while unlikely I'd never 100% trust my phone not to break or run out of battery while I'm out, so I'd always want some sort of backup, which renders the whole thing (almost) pointless for me.

Arguably it's more convenient I guess than sifting through your wallet for the right card, even if you're still carrying those cards, but lots of debit cards are already contactless and work as an Oyster, so that only really leaves out stuff like work pass.
