Ruby Port with some stinking cheese and a log fire. Hoping the wife will shag me later, despite the cheese stank.

Another vodka and cranberry as there was a lot of cranberry juice that needed drinking.

Will be having a whisky drink next

I had two pints of crappy cider with a crappy burger at Reds True Barbecue.

    It was crappy.

So I searched for “effects of alcohol on sleep”, once, on DuckDuckGo, so I thought anonymously and now my YouTube feed is populated with sobriety videos.
    I fucking hate this.

I did a residential course a couple of years ago where they wire you up with a heart rate variability monitor for 3 days. This basically monitors your resting/stressed levels. What was fascinating was that on the first night of the course, when everybody was knackered from travelling and went straight to bed, the monitor showed I'd been in a resting state for pretty much the whole duration of my sleep. On the second night, when everybody went to the bar and had a few drinks, I only went into a full resting state for the last 2 hours or so of my sleep cycle.

I had basically the same seven hours or so of sleep each night, but got far more benefit from it on the first night without alcohol.

Baileys and more Baileys. That vodka and cherry soft drink jono mentioned sounds intriguing (and would make a change from Baileys).

No, that's it this time. I very rarely drink it anyway. Last time was probably last Christmas, and this Christmas a mate came round with a bottle of it. I had 2 standard measures and the next day I was rough as arseholes. It just doesn't agree with me and to be frank, tastes like shit imo.

    More room for cider!

Whisky is one of those drinks I need to be in the mood for. I'll happily sip away at a few drams but as soon as have any other alcohol, say a pint of beer, I get a really bad hangover.

70% sweet zombie Jesus , you can always preserve something with it if it doesn't taste great .

I've read different explanations of what the active ingredient is , is this definately the stuff that drives you insane ?

I've not read up a great deal on the stuff to be honest, only the different methods of serving it. You're supposed to dilute it through sugar cubes with 3 parts water to 1 part absinthe so hopefully it won't knock me on my arse. I honestly can't remember why I bought it in the first place.

I think the ingredient was Thujones or maybe it was midichlorians , I can't remember.

I've got some Knob Creek , but enough about my personal problems .
But at 50% it's left me in a sorry state before , so be cautious and good luck.
