Ok, it's Thursday and nearly the weekend, so cracked a couple of beers. A hazy session IPA from Sierra Nevada which was sadly not as nice as i would have hoped. It was ok, just expected a wee bit better tbh.

Second beer is an 'Ourbier' Belgian brew. Much nicer, really tasty, but it's 9% ffs. It tastes potent, but not unpleasant with the alcohol content, but I wouldn't have picked it for a 'school night' if I'd realused that.

Anyhoo, not driving to work tomorrow, so i guess it won't matter anyway! 😃

It really is very nice. Only buy it when on offer, 8 otherwise, really gone up in price.

A couple of weeks now since having a beer - I wish the pubs would re-open so I can get back to drinking again.

My now biweekly 6 bottles of wine arrived from Majestic today so one of them. This is worth a look if anyone gets their wine from there, it's fantastic for the price (assuming you're buying 6 bottles)

I'd love to get a load of wine in but me and my wife would drink it all in a few days. If it's in the house it's getting drunk.

Wow. Just cracked a Brewdog/Evil Twin brewing collaborative stout. 'Roaster Coaster'. A Nitro Imperial Vietnamese coffee stout allegedly. If you can get past the hipster beer description, it's really good. Nice, creamy and smooth, with a well judged coffee taste.

It's 9% too- why am i finding ludicrous percent beers just now? Lower abv required for the next one tonight! 😃

I've managed to keep it to a steady 3 bottles a week.

I've been on the Pimms since about 4.30, actually Sainsburys Pitchers which is significantly cheaper and I would say just as good, I've been into Pimms for a couple of years now, it's just so easy to drink, I used to hate the stuff but then got into it as the wife and my mother used to drink it, now I get through about a litre a week at least. But then weirdly I only drink between about 5pm and 8pm - this seems to coincide with the kids 'happy hour'!

Maybe that should have been in the 'there I said it' thread!

No, it just doesn't work. Plus I always had a rule about not drinking at home alone.

I prefer stouts and porters so I'll have to try and track that down, sounds lovely.

Speaking of Brewdog collabs, you ever had Tokyo Death?

Drinking at home is great. It's cheaper and only has a couple of dickheads instead of multitudes.

Yes, same here. Although more like one Fri, one Sat, half Sunday and the odd glass with dinner on one or two days during the week.

I live in a tiny village, so the local is usually great :-)

I live in a tiny village too and while the local is great, sometimes it's nice to just chill out at home and drink.

I might try that - good value if you stock up.

It'll all be gone in a couple of days but those couple of days will be enjoyable.

    Hi Ror,

No i haven't tried that one. It sounds like one of their more turbocharged booze ones from the early days, i think i remember the name!

I'm not a massive stout fan, but do dig some.seriosly, that one was really nice. Much better than some of the chocolate stouts I've
tried. Really creamy and smooth. The head was almost as nice as I remember a pint of Gillespie's being, which used to be one of my favourite stouts until they went to the wall or got bought out about 20years back. Never seen them on draught in any pub since then. :-(

As an aside, I then followed that Brewdog/Evil Twin thing up with a nice Belgian saison, some magic rock ipa thing, a 6N pale ale & aBrewdog Elvis juice whilst doing the inevitable zoom quiz.

My head has felt clearer than it did first thing this morning.

    :-P
