Registered 20 years ago@askew Mr President is a double IPA - never tried one but my wife visited the shop in the way home and brought some bottles in. 9.2% not working early tomorrow, then. -

Can't go wrong with the Yeastie Boys.
What style is Mr President? It’s the first day of my advent calendar so it’s a Yeastie Boys wheat beer…
I don't think I've had a beer i didn't like from them. -

I've always wanted drink this since watching McNulty complain about Bushmills being protestant whisky in The Wire and I can't quite believe it's taken me this long to get round to it.
It's nice if not very exciting. -

Registered 18 years agoI mixed spiced rum, white rum with lemon, triple sec and sugar syrup. Tastes like a kind of rum grog/zombie. It's really nice! Threw a marischino cherry in there and slices of pineapple because that's how I roll.
Also made a couple of Last Word cocktails for the missus. That is Gin, Chartreuse, Lime and Luxardo. It's nice but I'm not a big fan of Chartreuse.

It is mind boggling to me that Jameson is a whiskey that you always wanted to try but didn't! It's available almost everywhere in the world and very affordable.

Don't get me wrong it's a great workhouse of an Irish whiskey, I have 2 bottles sitting in the drinks cabinet. Anyway now you can begin to work through the Irish whiskeys.
Also the mcnulty thing is totally true, would not have seen a Bushmills in our house growing up under any circumstances. Now it's obviously not the same these days but things have changed a lot since the 90s.
...I just drank a Kinnegar flying saucer stout and it may have gone to the head. -

Registered 16 years agoWhile there will be Christmas Kraken for many fun cocktails next week this week I decided to treat myself to one of these high quality sipping rums that y'all keep banging on about.
So I've bought myself a bottle of Mount Gay: Black Barrel and I'm really looking forward to trying it later -

I do need to get back into sipping. I’m afraid I’m rather more of a desperate glugger these days, even with very high quality spirits.

I made some mulled wine out of 15% wine. It's like drinking tranquilizers.
