Chrome browser push notications kill battery?

On Android so apparently, if you don't have, for example, the fb app and visit the site, you're prompted if the website can send you notications.

They're not email notifications but actual push ones.

    Does that drain your battery?

Perhaps the question should be how much?

turn it off for a day and keep track of battery usage
    re-enable next day

    compare

I have it turned on, don't notice any major difference - handy feature as facebook app is seemingly designed to kill your phone!!
