The way this is going I can definetely see Liverpool win this match, something I would never have forseen.

My fearless prediction for the second half:
Duff and Robben come on, Drogba (did he actually had one good move in the first half?) and one of the Chelsea midfielders will go off.

Oh and some free advice for Chelsea, STOP PLAYING EVERYTHING THROUGH THE MIDDLE!!!

    This could get interesting

If Liverpool win in The Final then the English FA will be in a bit of a quandry as to who to send to the Champions League next season considering it, afaik, can only send four teams.
Will Everton be sidelined in favour of the Pool?

I'm sure there are plenty of Barcelona fans who know exactly how you feel.

Not a great game, but the Liverpool fans, every man, woman and child were out of this world. That's the best atmosphere at Anfield ever. Well done.

Congratulations to Liverpool, but that comment is misplaced because Liverpool would've lost to Barcelona.

I hope they beat (probably) Milan.

This time last season, who'd have thought that Biscan would be an integral part of a team in the Champions' league cup final? :-)

    Speaking of bets.....

To prove that I'm not just jumping on the Champions League band wagon since we've had some success....

    My betting slip.

Sorry Ot's but I did manage to get to sleep.

Last time on the clock I recall seeing was 4:45 and was up again at 7:00 :(

Got a banging headache and ringing in my ears just like after a gig.

Watched the full re-run of the match on ITV in the early hours and was made up that the atmosphere came across quite well.

I was in the Main Stand near the away fans and the crowd noise was truly awesome. Guy in front of me went for a pee 2 minutes after kick off (why oh why ?) and missed the goal ! We all laughed at him when he came back up.

Went to the final in Rome in 1984 and that whole experience ( one week round trip by coach ) remains my most memeorable to date. I hope Istanbul can match it, although I'm not going by coach.

Mourinho continues to drop in my estimation, he really should be a politician he talks that much "spin".

I was disappointed by last night's game. Sure the tension and the atmosphere were great, but the game was average. Chelsea kept getting stuck in the middle and I haven't seen a decent Liverpool attack after the goal.

Looking forward to Kaka and Pirlo ripping Liverpool a part.

I'm only going to make two observations about the match:

    1. Finnan. I never new he was any good, but he was awsome last night. Didn't let anyone move on his side of the pitch, not even Robben.
    2. Dudek. Get. Rid. Of. Him. He alsmost didn't have anything to do during the entire match, yet managed to make a huge blunder. Bloody idiot.

Edit: I'm reading The Sun now, and I think I might be confusing Finnan with Caragher. One of the was very good, that's all I can say :).

I'm glad Liverpool won, although it meant I lost 40 on an 8-1 bet that Chelsea would win 2-0.

    \o/ Wahey! I was wrong! :)

"You can say the linesman's scored. It was a goal coming from the moon or from the Anfield Road stands."

    Heh.

Well, looked like it was over the line to me and if it wasn't then it would have been a penalty kick.

An easier goal to judge is the '66 world cup one. It is easy to see from the colour footage that it didn't fully cross. I'm sure everyone would agree, they just don't want to be the one who says it. Not that it really matters, refs decision is final.

IF that wasn't a goal then it was a penalty and a red card for Cech.
Mourinho was a really good loser last night, hugging Benitez and shaking the pool players' hands and such, right up until he got to the microphone and gave his usual spolied child impression.

Great game. Spectacles like that are why I love football so much.

Not entirely sure if it was a goal or not, but echo the sentiments about the penalty + red card if it hadn't been awarded.

Liverpool had some tremendous performances, Carragher was excellent.

Gudjonsen will kick himself for missing that chance :D

Come on you reds, all the f'ing way!!

Edit to get rid of the red car.

    My head still hurts.

In work and reading the 8 papers we've bought.

I will obviously be disappointed if we lose in the final but I am simply delighted to be there. I could never have expected to reach the final, despite my bet last July.

Anyone know of a good place for cheap flights from Liverpool (or Manc-hester) to Istanbul depart 25/05 return 26/05 ? Bloody expensive so far.

    You lucky sod! :-)

It's great though, isn't it? I've been on a high since last night, probably won't come down till the next league performance!
