I saw Luisa Omielan perform "Am I right Ladies" just before Crimbo at the Soho theater. Thought she was pretty fantastic with great stage presence.

I saw a warm up gig for Rob Newman's new show. He was quite nervous and lost his train of thought now and again but his new show, whenever it comes out, seems like it might be quite funny. It certainly was the other night.

Jack Dee-very dry and sarcastic. I also like Jimmy Carr and Lee Evans.

I think Carr's still touring, but are Evans and Dee even on the circuit any more?

Think I saw an ad for Dee doing some live dates the other day, and google confirms it.

If you want to see great comedy I recommend 'The Invisible Dot' night in London. Probably the most exciting up-and-coming guys around.

    Otherwise I'd recommend:

John Kearns, Jamie Demetriou, Natasha Demetriou, Rhys James, Adam Hess, Bobby Mair, David Morgan, Sean McLoughlin, James Acastor, Claudia O'Doherty, Luke McQueen to name a few.

A lot of great talent around at the moment.

    Trevor Noah

Still my favourite and interesting to see he has replaced Jon Stewart on the Daily Show.

Apologies if this is already known but the humble bundle are doing a weekly deal on a bunch of stand up videos. Includes Doug Stanhope and paying more than $10 gets you a lot of Bill Hicks. Iliza Shlesinger is a quite funny Texas gal.

Evans has retired. He said once he made it big he wanted to step away. He's done that and last year was his final tour.

Micky Flanagan is great - saw him at the Edinburgh Festival a while back.

Jack Dee is doing Latitude Festival this year with some sort of Agony-aunt style show. Also there will be David o Doherty (brilliant, look up the stuff on Youtube), Abandoman (improvised hip-hop) and Jon Richardson

Went to see Stewart Lee with a fractured rib. That was a big fucking mistake, but worth the pain. I'm not aware of anyone else who does what he does, piss-yourself-funny and genuinely astonishing when you leave and realise what he's done. Had a lady in the audience genuinely believe he was having a breakdown on stage and try to intervene.

Lee Evans is my favourite, without a doubt. Top notch comedian, his physical timing and movements are flawless.
