Two more seasons is ok with me. Iíve never read the books so I guess I donít feel like something might be missing. As long as it doesnít do a GoT let down Iíll be happy.

I'd think it's very likely it will do that though, since it will suddenly have to go off script - or condense a whole lot of content down to a whole lot less. Or just stop, I guess.

Still, at least they have plenty of warning of the end point so they can work towards it. That gives me some hope.

Ah damn, that's a shame. On a related note does anyone know if I could start at book 5 having only watched the show? I really struggle to read things that I've already watched - especially when there's this much of it, but if the show isn't going to get the full book arc then I'm tempted to switch.
Yeah you could do that definitely, as the show hasn't deviated massively from the books.

    REMINDER

Quick check before sleep, and it's showing up (yarr) already. First three episodes today, then back to weekly.

I enjoyed the first three episodes, although I did prefer when they were a crew.

Predictably I intended to watch one and then compulsively binged all three. It's really excellent again. Not ideal that the 'alleged' sacked sex pest has a dating scene though.

Wish there were more hard sci-fi shows. I occasionally find myself thinking 'huh, that's weird' when something in space doesn't move/react like I've been conditioned to expect from Star Trek/Wars etc. Then you think about it, and it makes sense that they are recreating how physics actually work and the compromises that would have to be made.

I'm somewhat forlornly hoping that someone can rescue it again to give us more than one extra season after this. It's too good to be cut short.

Caught up 2-4 this morning. Knew it was going to kick off, and didn't disappoint.

As for Amos, I presume the book wankers already knew he wasn't Amos. That was a surprise. Had to google whoever "Peaches" was it's been that long. That's a callback and an interesting setup too.

Unfortunately, the identity of the mole came as no surprise. Practically spelt out through these opening episodes. Only 6 more episodes to deal with all of this ? Going to be some ride !

As book related spoiler I got the impression that Earth was way more fucked up by the attacks than the series seems to be suggesting. Obviously early days and all that...

Caught with season 3-4 recently. I absolutely loved that Fred Johnson only got one scene in season 4 and promptly got smacked in the gob, lmao. Poor guy, signs up for one episode only to get punched by Cara lol that had me in stitches

Oh god, I need to know what happened to the big, blue Timothy mug.

Its importance was firmly established last episode, and seems a crucial element.

But yeah, this is great stuff.

Not too bad an episode, but they seem to be trying to cover too much, and not managing much overall progression. I still love watching it though.

Kinda disapointed they didn't show more the area around Amos. I was really looking forward to seeing the devastation. That whole scene was a little off tbh, I think it was Tiny's terrible acting.

I actually don't think he's dead. I'm certain Tiny er... cyberpunk man, will be back.

It's so good. They manage to do space flight better than everyone else despite the limited budget. Makes other sci-fi seem a bit silly by comparison.

For me season 3 focused on something that should have been a couple of episodes tops, especially taking into account the epic nature of what came prior.

Season 4 felt like a really poor star trek away mission dragged out along with the most one dimensional villan I've every seen outside of panto.. But mostly it again felt out of place against all nuance and political chess that came before it.

Season 5 is the balls so far though, giant King Kong balls.

I liek the threads they're setting up, so much intrigue. Can't say I care for Amos and Clarissa's story.

I think thatís my favourite. Especially the line this episode ended on. Good character work.

This season as a whole though feels a bit like theyíre saving some budget for a big season-ender and then going out with a bang in the final season. Iím very much up for that.

I'm only on S2E2 and I'm starting to enjoy it more but pretty much all of the characters are unlikable knobs although Miller is better in Season 2.
