Registered 5 years agoRemade with the unfinished 6th archstone world brought to (un)life would be the dream. They would have to be careful to get the right tone though, as it differs a lot from the other souls games. -

Why anybody would ditch their PS3 now is a mystery you'll be lucky to get £50, might as well keep it for Demon's Souls, plus the system has now been hacked so you can do other stuff with it too. -
I don't think it would hold up very well compared to the other games.
It's very janky in a lot ways. Probably why they haven't remastered it. It would sell well to hardcore fans but I think a lot of new players would find it frustrating.
I only played it last year, bought a PS3 just for it, and I wasn't blown away. The world tendency thing is awful, the game is really short compared to DS1, it's really been blown away mechanically by the Dark Souls series.
I can imagine being utterly besotted with it in 2009 but in 2020, I don't think it would sell or review that well. I would definitely buy it but I can't see it happening.

It's experimental nature should be lauded but that's also its downfall looking at it in 2020. It's just been done so much better since.
However it deserves a new release just to make the hardcore fans happy, but I'm not convinced it would sell a lot.
I think they know that or they would have done it by now. I'd rather they used the resource to keep pumping out a new AAA game every 2 years as they seem to be doing. -

Registered 16 years agoWorld tendency is brilliant, though doesn't work the same way anymore due to the online compnent being gone. I could never get on with the inferior Dark Souls and never even bothered with it's sequels. -

Registered 4 years agoOh he is correct. I want the remaster for sure but it's going to be pretty average compared to the later games. It has a special place in everyone's head but playing demons straight from say Bloodborne it will feel so janky. Even demons to dark souls 1 is a big jump. -

Registered 17 years agoIt was a great game and the first of its type, not sure if the more episodic style levels would be to everyone's liking though. Still a great world and I'm glad I played it to a completion of sorts.
Those ledges though, quaddy nightmare. And the swamp, yuck. -
