Not really au fait with US politics, but is there a chance this is a double-bluff so that Trump can go on an anti-deep state crusade against whatever he fancies?

I've always been partial to calling him Agent Orange. It kind of works in a historical context too.

Thatís quite the dose of histrionics there, kal.

If, as this person says, Trump is unfit for office, there are mechanisms in place for dealing with that. Nowhere does the Constitution say you should deceive and manipulate the President because you donít want to suffer the personal and political fallout from carrying out your responsibility. For fucks sake, the person mentions they thought about invoking the 25th but chose not to. Thereís no interest in whatís best for the nation, whatís best for its people and best for its government. Na, they will just use the idiot to push through their pet projects while keeping him from blowing everything up.

All these stories we've been seeing for ... a yer? more? ... about Trump fuming and being on the brink of losing it. Will he?

A lot of what I've seen makes me think he's just being his normal self. For a while I hoped that **this** will surely be what pushes him over the edge and causes an aneurism or heart attack or at least some childish "That's it folks. I've done what I came for. Swamp is drained and epic tax cuts made. I will now retire with my loving wife and spend the rest of my life playing golf and doing awesome business deals."

After this latest shit show I've lost all hope of that.

Couldn't copy the text on my phone yesterday but I thought it was well put.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/9da36m/i_am_part_of_the_resistance_inside_the_trump/e5gbpyr/

To be clear, ours is not the popular ďresistanceĒ of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous.

The erratic behavior would be more concerning if it werenít for unsung heroes in and around the White House. Some of his aides have been cast as villains by the media. But in private, they have gone to great lengths to keep bad decisions contained to the West Wing, though they are clearly not always successful.
    How dare you.

    How fucking dare you.

If the president is as insane as you claim he is, the only possible remedy is to come out with it, say it publicly, and let our democracy decide what to do. Anything less than that is a coup (if one with a slightly different flavor than the one being carried out by Russia). If the 25th amdendment needs to be invoked, it is by your silence that the American people have been denied the chance to demand it.

You're not part of "The Resistance".

What you're part of is the greater effort by the GOP to take advantage of Putin's money and Donald Trump's criminal rise to power, for your personal gain.

What you're doing (as I suspect you damn well know) is helping the GOP ram a cruel agenda through our system, and rob the American people of their wealth, their representation, and their basic dignity for generations to come, while trying to pin the blame for it on Trump.

You do not get to unilaterally decide that it's your responsibility to be Secret President on behalf of this monster.

You do not get to use your position to live out this weird spy thriller novel that you've written yourself into, and tell me that I should be grateful for it.

You do not get to risk our lives, our values, our electoral integrity, hell, our national sovereignty, just so you can try to rehabilitate your terminally corrupt party.

    Resign. Confess.

And never work in politics again.

Their entire ideology is based around low taxes and treating women like shit, they will put up with anything if policies help towards those goals.

In the Bob Woodward book he says that aides are hiding papers so he can't sign them. Is this what the democracy of most powerful nation in the history of the world has come to? Hiding documents so they can't be signed?

Heard the Pod Save America show on this (bunch of senior guys from Obama presidency), Woodward did 2 books in their time, when he told them about the book he sat in their office, pointed at the safe for classified information and said Ď I like what youíve got in thereí.

He then showed them high level documents (some copies of what was in the safe), gave them quotes from specific meetings and they had no idea how he got it.

The guy is brilliant at getting information. How itís finally presented may be open to interpretation when heís asking individuals as itís coloured by their opinions but thatís unavoidable.

A lot of love in the last day for the plaid shirt guy behind Trump.

It's probably exaggerated by the immediacy of social media and the traffic he generates, but it still amazes me how much comes out of each and every single appearance Trump makes.

It amazes me that news coverage is so poor that this gets about as much coverage as a school shooting.
