That's the fucking crazy thing over there. I've seen supporters of pretty much all the main democratic candidates saying that they'd consider voting Trump if their guy / gal didn't get in.

Fucking comical. I can't have my flavour of icecream, so fuck you all, I'm having piss covered nettles instead.

I think the anti-trump people will be more motivated this time around. Last time I think they stayed home because they thought (as did most people) that Trump couldn't possibly win.

Which is utterly dumb, yes. But it's the same kind of "oh please, people couldn't be *that* stupid" complacency that, amongst other factors, allowed Brexit to happen.

But there's no fucking around now.

@Mola_Ram But didnít the Referendum get one of the highest turn outs in recent history? I donít think people didnít turn out. I am sure that young voters turned out in their highest records. Then got blamed when people voted leave.

The problem was that no one seemed to look at how disenfranchised a lot of people felt by the political parties in general .

Who knew racism could be a big motivator to vote.

@JamboWayOh I have said it here before but I think that a lot of people thought great steps had been made in eradicating racism when all that happened was it was ignored. It is a shame because for a while I believed it too.

But this is more of a discussion for the UK Political thread.

    @Saul_Iscariot

Yep it definitely had been ignored because I and people I know still experienced entrenched and institutional racism. But yeah as you say it's definitely for the UK politics thread.

Good article, though with a slightly misleading headline:

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/oct/05/we-need-to-talk-about-hunter-biden?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I hope the Dems go with Warren. I do think Biden would be a mistake.

Too old. Every health scare (like the recent one) will give voters pause.

If it's going to be a progressive then I expect it'll be Warren. Both Biden and Bernie seem somewhat past it by this stage.

While his vision is great, time is most definitely not on his side. So no, it shouldn't be Bernie.

Just got to set the wheels turning.

He doesn't need to see it through.

None of the others are up to it.

If there's a young version of Bernie, then cool.

Surely him having a heart attack would put him out of contention, right?

You would have thought so, but no. He needs to withdraw and back Warren but the Bernie Bros won't have it and destroy every other candidate in an ever increasing battle for who the most pure is.
