Or maybe he is a selfish cunt who is worried that his net worth is shrinking. |

Registered 9 years agoHe's right in a sense, in that the American economy can't remain completely shut down for very long. It's just not possible.
But there's a fair distance between that and "HEY I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD GO TO CHURCH AS NORMAL IN THE COUPLE OF WEEKS" -

Registered 13 years agoClearly Americans are too dumb to comprehend the seriousness of the situation. Or they are a nation of selfish people.
Both seem equally plausible. -

Registered 14 years agoIf you just watch him on TV, where he just makes multiple claims about how well he's doing without correction, then you could be mistaken for thinking he's on-top of it, but this the first time where, I think, reality will catch up with him.
When people start seeing images of hospitals being overwhelmed, and people dying in the street, Trump might not seem so convincing. -

He'll probably just say that's from when Obama was in charge. I'm 100% sure his supporters would believe that to be true.

Registered 14 years agoPeople are saying that China's reported virus numbers must be fake, but frankly I'd be more wary about whatever numbers the USA reports, because there's no way Trump will not try to hide the facts once shit really hits the fan. -

As sick as it is I'm willing this to backfire on Trump. So much blood would be undeniably on his hands. Although he would of course deny it.

Registered 4 years agoEven if he removes the federal restrictions, most states won’t follow along anyway. We’ve gone into 21 day shelter in place here, and the federal government doesn’t have the authority to cancel that. I’m willing to bet it’s just a bluff to look good to his base, even his usual sycophants are going “yeah let’s not do that”. -

Registered 15 years agoYou say that, but I've seen many right wing mouthpieces drooling over the prospect of dying (killing poor people) for their economy. -

Registered 4 years agoProbably. I watched the livestream of the Governor announcing our shelter in place here, and the number of comments along the lines of “omg this is communism at its worst” and “this is just a mild flu, don't let the liberals win” was kinda scary. And also weird given we’re one of the reddest states with one of the reddest governors. -

Registered 15 years agoJust listening to the orange one speak. He's talking about how certain areas haven't been affected as much so they can get them back to work...
...which of course, turns them into areas that have been massively affected, then requiring additional quarantine measures. -

It's the rambling and the almost physical loss of interest that occurs when he gets to the end of a longer sentence that gets me. He seems to ad lib between the basic coherence that is written for him.
Clearly been told to read it out but it looks like it is the first time he has seen the script. His eyes never leave the page until a word or two from the end or he goes 'off the cuff'.
Compared to others who step up to the podium engage with those present and make eye contact with the camera and therefore the viewing public, it really does not look good. Surprised he hasn't fashioned a way to make himself look better.
Once Trump steps aside he has this way of standing and gently swaying, like a kid waiting impatiently in line at McDonalds.
Pence might be the son of Satan but at least he looks at you whilst going about his plan.
Oh, and the kerning between the letters of the word 'Washington" on the backdrop to these updates is really starting to piss me off too.
