That is Trump’s baseline level of maturity.

USA makes me laugh, demanding stuff when they're just a shitty busted up country now.

It's all about appealing to his base. That is literally all he cares about - well, that and avoiding the release of his tax returns.

Bloody hell those unemployment numbers in the US. 1,500% increase in a week. More than 3 million people signing on.

I know, I can't believe it. And that stimulus package is kind of terrible for normal people, I read that a good amount goes to shareholders of companies in trouble while people get a one off cheque. So, yeah, brilliant.

The breakdown I read is that the package is costing 18k per person in taxes to this company and they get a check for a grand.

Well that'll definitely last them till Easter when Sir Cheeto gets everyone back into work and packed into churches. And yes 1200 dollars for every adult that earns upto 75k with 500 dollars per child.

Who's over there? What's the mood like?

I mean, here in the UK cunts are already shouting abuse on the streets, so fuck knows where we'd be already if we had access to guns.

Apparently stores are selling out of ammo and ARs.

At least two in the coronavirus thread got an earful for daring to be out and about. And that's just here on EG. I'm aware of others too.

You're allowed to go out once a day for a form of exercise.

Tbh it’s not all that bad. You’ve got vocal people on the internet and gun nuts hoarding ammo, but that’s always the case anyway. I’m architecting a donation/volunteer solution for our healthcare system and the sheer volume of people wanting to help in some way is staggering. We’ve even had someone want to donate private planes to help move supplies around the state.

Next time carry a 6 foot 1 inch stick with which to prod her.

I suppose if you're that way inclined, the current crisis must present itself as an opportunity.

Glad they got him. These people are absolutely cracked.

I'm so glad I don't live in a failed state like the US.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), one of the largest US pro-gun ownership groups, told its members this week it had been in contact with the White House, Capitol Hill and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), to advocate for “national critical infrastructure industry” status.

“We want you to know the [NSSF] is hard at work for you during this challenging time as the nation faces the Covid-19 pandemic,” the group said in a statement.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Lawrence Keane, NSSF senior vice-president for government and public affairs, said in a letter to the DHS the “critical infrastructure” designation should be extended to the whole gun industry, including dealers and shooting ranges.

“Food, water, shelter and adequate medical care are paramount for survival, but so too is the ability for an individual to defend his or herself, their family, as well as their home, business and property,” Keane reportedly wrote.

The problem isn't that american nutjobs want muhGUN now. The problem is the sensible americans who have somehow managed to avoid getting one until now are very quickly waking up to the fact that the status quo - the one where they could still happily put up with the occasional (daily) nutjob going loco as long as it didn't impact them personally; that status quo - is perhaps about to become worst case scenario. Best get a gun then?

It also just occurs to me that the band Status Quo is (in)famed for not changing their music at all. Ie. They maintained the same sound for decades. I never clocked that before... Was that even intentional?

I might get in on the USA lunacy and apply for a shot-gun licence.
