@TechnoHippy - That sounds like the kind of thing a narcissistic psychopath would do, so yes I would imagine that is exactly his plan.

Obviously that is his intention. Although I doubt he understands exponential growth, so he is still likely to have fucked it up.

He started to try and explain exponential to the reporters in his briefing last night. It was beautiful. The best kind of half arsed start to an explanation which almost immediately nosedived into dismissal on realising his ego had already cashed a cheque his brain couldn't cover - believe me - nobody does that better than him. Perfect.

His uttering a few weeks back of ďI take no responsibilityĒ was the most beautiful thing he ever said.

When the campaigning starts up again and he starts trying to claim that he did a great job because only 50,000 Benghaziís worth of Americans died from the virus then just play that line.

Iím pretty sure heís going to try and cancel the election. No fucking way is he going to win. Not after this.

Cult following is a known thing in the US. There is nothing that can be said or reasoned with any Trump follower other than "he's doing a great job"

Isn't Trump's approval rating getting higher each week?

Yep, heís up to about 46%. The highest since days after he got into office.

I suspect that might plummet when death tolls go through the roof.

There was an episode in the second season of the documentary "Dirty Money" about Kushner's property business' lovely ways of treating its tenants.

Amongst other they had a youngish couple renting a complete shithole from him, all while getting fucked by the property company financially - I felt really sorry for them as they were clearly stuck at the bottom of society's food chain - until the interviewer asked them how they voted in 2016.

    "Trump"

    "Why?"

"Cos he takes care of business"

    Nuff sed.

It wouldn't have been so bad had he not said "no-one knows more about..." just before saying it.

US death toll is estimated at 240 000 at the upper end at the moment.

Trump at the Corona briefing -
ďDid you know Iím #1 on Facebook? I donít know what it means but Iím #1 on Facebook".

    (He's not even top 10)

On the bright side, future textbooks will never struggle to find an example of narcissistic personality disorder.

Go back 5 years and tell someone that they'll be watching president trump, in a daily briefing to the american people in order to calm them down about a global killer virus, during which he'll proudly lie he's No1 on fucking facebook.

If that's me you're talking to, I'm asking how the fuck you know one of the side-stories to a book I was writing - which I threw away due to not even my own suspension of disbelief being able to stop from eye-rolling long enough for me to finish it.

It even started with the line "the biggest lie the devil ever told... was that he didn't even know what being number one in fucking facebook was."

So Berlin apparently ordered and paid for 200,000 filter masks from American company 3M, manufactured in China. The shipment was confiscated in Bangkok by the US to be redirected there. Nice.

Sounds like something America would do.

I have been using a 3M mask. They are pretty much the World leaders of basic dust masks.

Did America basically say that 3M are American so their items belong to America? And Sundstrom sound German, why not use their masks?

I don't think it's official yet but German politicians are really pissed off right now.

No idea about Sundstrom but that name sounds very Swedish to me, not German

If Germany paid for that shipment already then it's basically theft/piracy.

    France/Canada apparently investigating similar cases.

    With friends like these...

They are indeed Swedish. (We use their masks for chemical filters).

Quite ridiculous really, the US will probably just keep them in a cupboard for a while trying to think of where they should distribute them to, a bit like the ventilators no one actually needs.

Why aren't the EU, as a group, sourcing masks and other equipment? Seems like having every country sourcing their own is madness.

Partly because they seem incapable to agree on anything. France recently stopped the export of medical equipment to another EU nation and kept it for themselves.

I've seen a few columns (there was one in the Guardian a couple of days ago) suggesting Covid is a bigger threat to the EU than either the 2008 financial crash or Brexit. Wasn't sure that felt right a couple of days ago, but it's feeling plausible now.

Very much feels like the national governments have siezed the reigns and the EU institutions have been left adrift. Each of those national governments has an electorate to appease.

Pretty much everything the EU was created for is slowly eroding and they don't seem to know what to do about it. This is probably their biggest threat so far.
