The damage is done. America is not a world leading country anymore. Frankly, is a sad conclusion that people cannot work together as much as they hate eachother.

    He's definitely getting in again.

I know. Still have a sliver of hope left though, don't take that away from me!

Oh he'll win. It's whether those that are intelligent enough to go against him are willing to start increasing the power of individual states.

I've felt for a while now you might start to see the likes of New York, Mass, Connecticut looking to form smaller non-federal govts

I donít think the cunt is getting in again. I donít believe he has grown his vote, nor do I believe it has shrunk even though he is obviously the biggest cunt the world has ever seen.

I just feel there will be more turning up this time to make it count and get him out, and on the flip side there wonít be new people turning up voting to keep him in.

    Surely to tuck ?

Big assumption there will be another vote for a US president.

I wouldn't put it past the shear amount of corruption in US politics right now that Trump, his GOP enablers and the stolen supreme court majority will declare a declare a national emergency and stop all future presidential elections.

OK, so I get that Trump is terrible and that we want him to lose (and I still think he will; others may disagree).

But you can think that without going all "HE'S GOING TO DO ALL THESE THINGS EVEN THOUGH HE DOESN'T HAVE THE POWER TO DO THEM, STOP ALL ELECTIONS WITH THE NATIONAL GUARD AND THINGS". That is crazy talk.

It's like he's collectively broken everyone's mind. Him and Twitter.

Shouldn't we start using rhetoric like fascism 2.0

I've studied fascism as a historical event and this is the same but different, modern, but the same. It's happening again.

    #fascism 2.0

I'm not on twitter or Facebook so don't know whether that's a redundant suggestion.

The only lawful way to postpone elections is via an act of Congress, which is held by Dems. Thereís no other pathway even with emergency declarations. And an attempt to illegally stop any election is an extreme action even for Trump.

I don't know that "fascism" is a useful word to use, even if some elements of it are accurate. These days it basically means "like the Nazis", and bringing that in does not make for a productive conversation.

I must say, I am impressed with just how much stupid shit Trump manages to do a day. I struggle to get through the day getting more than a few meaningful things done in the time I have... but he can just smash out one moronic idea after another. It's inspiring.

Wow, amongst many demonstrations across the US, there are protesters tearing down barriers outside the White House and confronting the Secret Service and police decked out in in full riot gear. Good image for election year.

What exactly is causing the this now?

Not to downplay what happened but there have been loads of police killings. What is different about this one? Is it a cumulative effect and this is just the one to make people snap, or is it a reaction against Trump and growing white supremiscism - or both?

Because he knelt on his kneck for 9 minutes while the guy begged him not to kill him and pleaded for his mum?

Iím not expert but my guess is that itís cumulative exacerbated by having a President and general nation vibe that is going backwards not forwards coupled with highly strung COVID tension.

At least under Obama you had someone who wanted better not racists being cheered on by someone they admire.

It has been overused in recent years but right now itís becoming increasingly accurate

Wasn't there a case a couple of years ago where police slowly beat to death a homeless person while he begged for his mum. There was also a police killing of a child in a playground with a toy gun.

I know this one is bad but I still wonder what is different about. If there wasn't COVID19 and Trump stoking hate, would thaere have been the same reaction?

The cop who murderer Trayvon Martin auctioned the gun he did it with for something like a quarter of a million dollars

And things are getting worse. I think COVID has fed into the intensity of the reaction but this has been coming for a long time.

The heartbreaking video that went viral no doubt helped. Also the Breonna Taylor thing a couple of weeks ago. There's always going to be a breaking point.

There's always a straw though, isn't there. Sometimes there's no obvious reason why one appalling act takes greater prominence than others.

As for the WHO thing, who the fuck does he think is going to fill that funding gap?

The police officer who killed the man has allegedly killed or seriously injured multiple Black people before during many boshed arrests and never faced any repercussions.

It is as if he did it with the blessing of the police.

It's also why justice won't be done til those who allowed him back onto the streets repeatedly are also behind bars.
