So a bunch of the Q faithful are now saying it was a psyop...

...but like, assuming that's true, how thick do you need to be to fall for a psyop that ludicrous?

I'm guessing for the anniversary of his lobotomy.

Wonder if Bob Woodward will do a third Trump book, covering the final weeks of the election campaign and the aftermath. The second book, Rage, is very good, but only covers up to early Summer 2020.

Even Pence has declined to show up for Trump's leaving parade. But is showing up for the inauguration.

We wondered for years what would finally turn Pence against Trump. Turns out that in the end "whipping up an angry, armed mob to lynch him" was the tipping point.

God, do you remember those innocent days of Sean Spicer lying about the size of the inauguration crowd and him hiding in a bush from the press? Halycon days.

@JamboWayOh I still remember his 2016 victory speech, which, despite the weird gestures, odd intonation and creepy-dead-eyed-child standing next to him, sounded almost like a normal victory speech. He even said nice things about Clinton. No building walls, no travel bans, just the normal stuff election winners say, with weird hand gestures and creepy-dead-eyed-child thrown in.

If you were a hopeless optimist and willing to ignore plenty of evidence to the contrary, it was almost possible to believe that his campaign rhetoric had been just empty rhetoric and that he'd actually turn out to be a normal-ish president.

    That didn't end so well.

Ugh, too much Trump and his family... with a side order of Farage.

    Can barely deal with it.

I remember just a few days after the election he was talking about how “lock her up” was just for the crowds and he wasn’t serious about it.

I really hope someone reminds him every single day that Obama got two terms back to back, so is better than him by default.

And right now, having top-decked every toilet in the West Wing (with help from Jared and Ivanka), he's going around farting on all of the chairs.

Do you think he’ll still dominate headlines once he’s gone? Impeachment etc. Or will he fade away into obscurity? It’s been great having him silenced.

Not really been following too much the last few days. Not seen anything regarding armed protests or the like yet.

I think his disappearing from the presidency and social media will go some way to making him... quieter. Less able to dominate the news cycle.

I don't think his cultists will go away. The mainstream GOP establishment seems pretty fed up by all the QAnon nonsense, though, so I don't really know where they're going to end up. I'm sure other people will try to take the Trumpers under their wing, but I don't know how much of his "movement" (such as it was) will survive without him leading it.

Most networks are just ending giving him any attention whatsoever. Which is great.

    Five years too late really.

Seems like the Republicans are fairly split between the “establishment” GOP, and the Trumpian “America First” GOP.

I suspect the corporate donors will support the establishment GOPers, whereas the base will lean towards the America First wing, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out

Seems that Trump just pardoned Bannon. Thought they had broken up in bad terms. Maybe he wants to enlist him again.

Or he knows where the bodies are buried and he wants to keep him sweet.

What did Lil Wayne do that needed a pardon?

Edit: never mind he pleaded guilty to a federal weapons charge.

It's mad that such a power exists. Have Biden's camp said anything about if they are going to attempt to change the checks and balances that clearly don't work?

Says so much about Trumps personality the amount of people he's pardoned / rumoured to be pardoning who were convicted of financial fraud.

There's even a Harkonen among the pardons. One 'n' short, but explains where the Republican Party is going long-term.

Interesting that he pardons the person who defrauded his ‘base’ but not the people from his base who stormed the capitol...
