I mean, at least McCunnel has openly criticised Trump, but if he’s not willing to translate that into meaningful action by voting guilty on the thing he literally says he is guilty of, he can slither and gobble back into his slimy hole.

This could change dramatically in the next four years. Can see Trump running again with the Republicans and having a good shot shot, regardless of how good/bad a president Biden turns out.
Unless he gets absolutely sued and convicted into the sun for state crimes.
    Please god let this happen
They need to drop some type of charges before he announces a 2024 run. Otherwise we will no doubt hear how Biden is going after his opponent because he’s scared of losing to him.

Of course there’s still the hope that Trump won’t even make it to 2024. Nor Mitch.

I think four years of criminal and civil lawsuits and basically no social media presence, is going to dampen his prospects in 2024.

He'd still probably win the Republican primary in a heartbeat, though.

This. I great that this exoneration will have grave consequences during Trump's next final week

Also there will be a significant amount of new younger voters too. Don’t think he’ll have a chance. Think over time as deals get broken and money doesn’t end up where it’s
Meant to go the blame game will happen. Can imagine it being quite toxic, and on the public stage, within the Republican Party over the next few years.

Yeah, I wish I could be confident enough to say "no chance he'll win again", but then I remember that America is fuuuuuuuucked.

'Toings and froings .... kerfufffle ....'

A US president attempts to destroy the democratic process (and could again) and that is best the British Prime Minister can manage, because votes and elections may get in his way too in the future, when completely self-evidently he should be the unchallenged World-King. Johnson manages to be even more despicable than he already was. Quite an achievement.

Ted Cruz has flown to Cancún for a family holiday in the middle of one of the worst natural disasters and humanitarian crises in Texas’s history. That is top class senatoring.

I get VERY strong "Let's flee across the boarder" vibes. Especially with the facemasked photos of Cruz.

Can we change this to “orange ex-president” please, that’d be nice to see each time this thread surfaces.

You think Cruz is more politically savvy than to be seen flying away on holiday during a crisis in the very state he governs. But its America, so people would still end up supporting him just because he's on their side.

I went down a Twitter vortex and was amazed by all the cunts that were eulogising Rush Limbaugh, all of them using the words 'hero' and 'freedom'.

Trump was on Fox News and was meant to be speaking about the cunt Limbaugh, but kept on speaking about how he won the election.
