If his conviction is being overturned then wouldn't this pave the way for Avery's release or at least a retrial?

On the plus side he probably got way more sex in prison than he would have outside

CNN reports that upon leaving Columbia Correctional Institution Brendan Dassey thanked his fellow inmates for being more than friendly towards him and was heard to say that "slightly larger than normal poos are no longer a worry".

Doubt it. Dassey, there was never any evidence. Just a botched confession. Avery had blood and other dna evidence.

I was just wondering that since dassy was supposed to be there helping him it would cast doubt on the other stuff at least enough to get a retrial?

Well , no , it didn't . Some (dodgy) blood in his car, that was it. Nothing on the scene.

Avery absolutely should be getting a retrial here.

    So who's watched Season 2?

So sad to see Brendan being given such a run around and ultimately staying in prison. It seems so incredibly obvious that he's innocent, as multiple judges have agreed before being overturned.

Steven I'm still unsure about. Zellner comes across as such a slimy lawyer to me and most of her reconstruction experiments seemed far more concerned with good TV than good science. And it seemed pretty hypocritical to criticise Krantz for proclaiming Avery's guilt via that press conference ahead of the trial, while she's proclaiming his innocence to the whole world via Netflix ahead of his appeal.

The last couple of episodes though, the revelations about Bobby and other bits of evidence about locations of bones, witnesses to the car etc, the timeline she constructed all started to make perfect sense. There is surely enough there now to warrant a new hearing.
