That is amazing. I've always wanted one, pretty much exactly like that one honestly. Unfortunately while I could do all the emulation and set up side of things, my skills at wood working, etc are akin to that of a dead frog.

Far more than it probably should have. With all the extra hardware, monitor, PC, artwork customization, freight delivery etc it topped out at $1600. But it's been a bucket list item for me since I was 10, so screw the expense.
Totally. With something like this I donít think I would even think about the money, Iíve probably spent well over a grand in my assorted years in spending my dadís money on arcade cabinets.

@mrpon Thanks for the impressions. How were the GB/C/A emulators? Also, is the D-pad alright? At this price, I may have to try it.

Also, how long did shipping take?

Doesnít the forum send out e-mail notifications anymore if someone @s you?

GB/C/A are fab, loads of config options to set color schemes etc. D pad is good, no probs here. The LDK Game console offers an analogue stick but for nearly twice the cost. Delivery was just under two weeks. Make sure you get the 32GB version for just a few dollars more. I didn't :(

Looks pretty good. I've been tempted to get a small handheld for the 8bit & 16bit games. Mainly snes really.

Out of the box SNES isn't great tbh, low frame rates etc.. There's talk of improvements with the latest firmware but I haven't tested that. You can tinker with settings etc..

    Tread carefully.

Yeah I've been reading some impressions. I've also been looking at this:

Same price on Amazon and I've a £30 voucher itching to be spent lol.

My PCH-1000 Vita is slowly dying on me and have been looking into possibly getting some sort of replacement for my emulation gaming.
The PocketGo seems like a really nice build, but reading their is screening tearing, plus the actual screen seems quite small.
The LDK Landscape has a cheaper look to it, but has a stick and AFAIK is tad beefier under the bonnet, with a slighter bigger screen than the PocketGo
Then there is the RS 97 which @Addy__ mentions above, this looks decent, screens is larger too. Saw on that DroidBox site there is a Plus V2, which had a stick, larger battery but smaller screen compared to the RS-97 PRO.

All a tad confusing which to get.
Not looking to play anything too crazy on the kit, mainly SNES, GBA. Don't think any of these can play NDS.
Not fussed about higher ie PS1 etc

First time I hear about this. Evercade handheld. Supports 8-16 bits ports in the form of proprietary cartridges. Decent sized screen, too.

    https://evercade.co.uk/

The price is not that high, and they seem to have a couple publishers on board. But more than that, depending on the hardware I wonder if it could be modded to play other games. Of course, it would also depend on whether the emulation is any good.

Added light guns and a working coin slot to the olí arcade. Tempted to also try for a module steering wheel and pedals, but that might just be too awkward to do.

Retropie 4.5 is out. Still no support for the Pi4 yet, but they are working on it.

That looks amazing, will want to see the finished thing. I built a bartop last year, would have loved a full sized cab but no way I would have room for one. I was proud of the finished thing though

@Your-Mother Where did you get the cabinet from? Was it a kit from somewhere?

I've also got a bartop but last time I looked the full size cabinet kits were several times more expensive which struck me as weird

I shouldn't as i already have a switch, gpd win 2, and 3 different hacked 3DS consoles, but there's something about this i really like

I was always a massive fan of the GBA Micro back in the day. Regret giving it to a friend. But i'm sure he loves it.

Looks cool but yeah, redundant considering what you have already. But then for $50 could be worth it just to mess with. Always fancied one of the android based GPD handhelds, just never enough to spend what they go for. Got a hacked 3DS but when it comes to emulation its really underwhelming.

Pah when you start looking into it everything spirals.

Happy shopping on Aliexpress, so i could get the Pocket Go for £31.

Or i could get the LDK Landscape for £41...

Or i could watch youtube videos about both of them instead of getting on with my huge pile of work.

Yep. Too many games already in my backlog, and too many devices to play already. Why buy another one to gather dust?

Yet here I am awaiting retropie for Pi4 like a loon.

Well my thinking was it's easily concealed, so i could sneak it out at lunch for a quick play in the sunshine over the summer.

Can't do that with the Switch

Even if it's a pile of shite it was only £35 so good to have a play.

It got me thinking are there no cases or projects for a handheld/ housing that would incorporate a pi 0 or even a pi 3?

@Addy__ There's the Retroflag Gpi case for the Pi Zero and Zero W. Retroflag are the same people who make the cool SNES and Mega Drive cases for the Pi3.

Ordered too. Love a bit of aliexpress shopping. Went for the white version.

Not clear on whether its the "B" chip or not, apparently these things come in a variety of versions of which JZ4760B is the slightly better chip and has better SNES and PSX performance...

That's what I'm waiting for, but they're taking their sweet time getting it in stock. Feels like they've been teasing it for months.
