    @DUFFMAN5 Feel very similarly to you on all points. For me, it illustrates how important competent and believable voice acting and moreover a decent storyline is.

    As you said, still have a bit left, looking forward to it. If my little one decides to sleep tonight, might even do it today. (Fingers crossed)

    All good points. This one, however, I mitigated by sticking the accessibility options on. Thank fuck they were included.

    Cinematic mode is your friend for long journeys... although you have to keep an eye out for ambushes and exit it sharpish

    @askew hadn't even considered that... Will have a look in the options when I next play!

    Planning to start this over the Christmas break. Sounds like it’s a very big game so the chances of me finishing it before next Christmas are pretty slim!

    If you go into cinematic mode you dont have to press a button you maintain pace and follow the route automatically.

    Am now on Chapter 6, somehow managed to start chapter 6 missions before getting the title card for chapter 6 though. Caused an odd appearance in the cutscene as I had just done a couple of missions involving that character and their reappearance took me by surprise!

    Spent a while this evening treasure hunting. It is a shame the general main mission gameplay is so dull as this world and exploring it is something special. The story and voice acting is up near the best too...

    Finished the main story this evening. Really enjoyed the tense ending, which escalated and delivered just as I felt it should. As my Arthur has saintly honor levels, I got the Micah punch-up ending and died of TB, but I read afterwards if I was an arse, I’d have chewed a bullet.

    Also done Epilogue 1, which was horribly boring. A total chore and am just doing it for the completion element now. Suspect I will finish part 2 tomorrow and I can already tell it’s going to be a showdown with Micah, so I will look forward to that, as he’s the best villain in this entire game, for me.

    Two missions in Chapter 6 left... without spoilers, how essential are the epilogue missions? I'm torn between having a break when the chapter ends (experience suggests I'd never go back to it) or pushing on to the end end.

    @Chug666

    Well, having just finished it this morning, there is a good amount of content there, but it pretty much bridges some of the outstanding matters for those that previously played the original Read Dead Redemption.

    The missions themselves are nice enough, but a bit dull, especially in epilogue 1. It picks up dramatically towards the end I really enjoyed it.

    There are also some nice ‘perks’ for finishing everything off.

    It took me around 8-9 hours to complete it I would say, but I was belting along a bit, as I was keen for the credits to roll.

    @SambaApe Cheers! Pretty sure any clever links to the first game will be wasted on me- I can barely remember what happened at the start of this one. But I will persevere, and get it done by Christmas.

    The epilogue is basically pornography for fans of the first game how anyone didn't love every second of that is beyond me. Though I suppose as the sales figures show not everyone has the same exposure to the first game so it may miss the mark for some.

    It's also utterly embarrassing how little I'm able to engage with any negativity towards this commercial product. I think I need help.

    I'm the same. I did think the controls were shit when I started the game, but they become second nature by the time I hit Chapter 3. To hear people still griping about them when they're as far as Chapter 4 just makes me think...

    I'm the same as you two, there was a comment on this thread which basically said "there's a story?!" If the particular person doesn't think this game has a brilliant story then they must be deaf and blind as well as stupid!

    Started this on Christmas night, perfect opening to play on Christmas. Put a few hours in since. It looks glorious. Truly glorious. But I can tell straight away the things that are going to start getting on my tits.

    -The controls don't feel intuitive at all, feels like I'm fighting against menu's and button combinations. I've ended up drawing my gun on a few people.

    -Really not a fan of the way they throw information at you in a tiny box in the corner of the screen whilst you're in the middle of something.

    -The various systems, still don't get them. It's like it's trying to be a simulator on one hand by making you do things properly, but it takes shortcuts when it's convenient / they couldn't be arsed to program something in properly.

    Fully into the world and am enjoying playing it, but those things are really sticking out this early on.

    @cov I've been trying this as well, but Arthur just ends up losing the pace and comes to an eventual stop.

    I gave the online a proper go last night, having decided I no longer care enough about the single player story to worry about spoilers. Actually quite enjoyed the missions, and had a couple of great moments out in free roam getting revenge on randos who were just attacking anyone.

    It does seem like the towns with their clusters of shops will be magnets for griefers, and there's hardly anything I want to spend money on until I rank up (or pay gold for early unlock), but it could be fun if it ends up with as much variety as GTA Online did.

    My fav online activity (albeit not played it for a couple of weeks), so far is Horse racing! Had some great games coming second on one race is the highlight so far ;)

    I think the most grief i’ve had has been from lasso’s!
    So not being killed, just lasso’d and hogtied until i break free. Admittedly this can get annoying after the 5th/6th time and bullets may fly if i can’t even leave the town due to it...

    @the_milkybar_kid

    Hold the run.key for 3-5 seconds when you entet cinematic mode and then let.go... you have yo have a waypoint and route set tho

    @cov Cheers. Having to set a waypoint seems to defeat the object of going on 'autopilot' so to speak.
