I already have that preordered, a couple of previews have sold me on it. (Star wars)

I think that's probably my last purchase this year though.

Don't forget to go Easter Egg hunting. The amount of hidden bonus content in this game is next level. UFOs, zombies, kkk, rapists, cannibals and some really dark voodoo shit.

That's on top of the "normal" hidden quests, of which there are many.

    What? Zombies?

I'm enjoying it so far, really pretty. Glad the starting chapter is done with. I've done a lot more watching than playing so far.

Anyone getting an annoying flickering opening the menu?

Looks like online freeroam is FPS/Server hell at the moment.

Does the online save carry over from the consoles like GTA?

Yep. Really crazy shit. The zombies come out at certain times of night in the swamp areas north of Saint Denis, iirc. You may have to speak to someone first or do something, before they'll appear, can't remember. And you have to be on foot.

UFOs appear in various places. There's one if you go to the top of one of the mountains near Strawberry and face east, only twice a day it appears, it'll fly up to you then fly off.

Ummm... PC version seems rough as hell. Settings menus keep glitching, benchmark ran once but refuses to run again. Character models in the game are some real last-gen stuff. Not sure if that's because my settings won't apply properly, or just because we've been spoiled over the last 12 months (though hell, this is sub-Witcher 3 levels and that game's coming up on 5 years old).

In 21:9 res I get both vertical and horizontal black bars during cinematics. Played a bunch with the settings, gave up and reverted to default, looks fine, just bumped up the anisotropic filtering. And yes you often need to restart to get the benchmark running again. So far Iíve been holding ďAĒ a whole lot.

I donít remember it all being anything less than stellar on x.

It's weird. Landscapes and lighting are very pretty. But even after restarting and making sure ultra-level settings are applied, character models still look really underwhelming. Might just be that it's a 12 month old game designed for consoles and that we've seen better since in the likes of Gears 5, CoD:MW and even (in its own sweet, weird way) Control.

Performance is fine, so far as it goes. I can't quite manage 4k/ultra/60fps, but close enough. Not impressed with the HDR implementation. Almost prefer the game with it turned off, though maybe that'll change once I'm past the endless snowstorms.

Kotaku and other sources now reporting on the ropeyness of the PC launch. One big tip seems to be to switch your graphics mode from Vulkan to DX12. Certainly works better for me (though still not seeing those top-tier visuals people keep talking about).

Finally got round to playing this despite getting on release on PS4, finished a few days ago and what a ride that was. Arthur Morgan, take a bow son.

I would have thought Vulkan should be the choice. Graphics are fine for me, just that menu flicker being my issue. I'm' on rtx 2070

edit: benchmarked on both vulkan and DX12. Vulkan gives me better averages and DX12 hits higher and lower.

I very nearly pre-ordered tis, but I'm glad I gave that a swerve.

I remember trying to get GTA V downloaded and installed being a massive pain in the rectum due to Rockstar's shitty launcher. It's clearly not improved.

DX12 seems to run marginally better on my GTX1080. I'm used to this on the Xbox One S, so don't mind a few drops to 30

    Dropping to 30 on a GTX1080?

What resolution are you playing at?

Vulkan may give better average performance but apparently it is a good bit glitchier right now.

I think I'm going to wait a few weeks before picking this up so the bugs are ironed out. I simply am not PC gamer enough to put up with that shit.

I'm still tempted, it's a future cash cow for them so they must intend to fix it asap. Also £29 from Ukraine

Works fine for me, locked 60 at 3440x1440 on a 1080ti with default settings. I just shot my first bear but I have no idea what to do with the pelt, so I just dropped it off at the camp. Itís definitely doing that Rockstar thing where they constantly pop up messages in the upper left corner and if you missed it you have no idea what to do.
Wouldnít call the game tedious but everything takes a long time. You just have to take your time and I can see that not being for everyone.

If you hold down F1 or something, you can check out all the tutorial info you missed.

Not a super fan of the horse handling and controls in general(I think AssCreed Odyssey got that on lock) but the actual interactions possible are nice and all the extra ambient stuff that goes on which the extra years of crunch/slavery demonstrates.

Reinstalled this on my PS4 tonight and spent some time online. Finished single player when it first same out.

Wow, what a stunning game. I forgot how beautiful it was.

Online mode is excellent. Iíve started doing the bounty hunter challenges and they are good fun.

Recently been on GTA V online and found the control/gameplay quite poor. RDR2 gameplay is far better and more fluid.

I feel like Iíve bought a brand new game so rich in detail and options.

As not so big fan of GTA series I have still quite big reservations for this game. I wonder how static the game world is and if there enough meaningful things to do. I guess it is better to watch some gameplay videos before purchasing the game ...

Hopefully all the major problems has been ironed out before Stadia launch.
