I did reload this the other day and while the character models werenít quite as good as I remember (played online bit for a few mins) it all still looked rather lovely. Could be a slight downgrade to that side due to the mp nature though.

Have you got out of ĒwinterĒ yet?
Heh. That's the online for you! I remember my character ended up looking like Sloth from The Goonies.

@erasr To be fair I dropped a decent bit of cash back into the Collector role to get the metal detector... but once you've got that, you can equip it while riding halfway across the map in cinematic mode and stop every time your controller vibrates for some more easy cash. I'm now saving up for a trader trader wagon that lets you carry more than one carcass at a time.

Main thing though is guns, they cost a few hundred each and you definitely want to upgrade when you can. People seem to prefer having the carcano rifle early on for sniping, and the bolt action rifle for PvP, for example.

I'm not at all bothered how my character looks but you could easily drop hundreds of earnt dollars on outfits if that's your thing.

Quite honestly though a lot of the things you spend money on at the lower levels are just things that make it easier to earn more money- a la GTA online. I don't know how they'll keep adding later-game content that seems worthwhile- it's not like they can just invent crazy weaponized vehicles like GTA does (or can they...)

it was high caliber however it was overflow. It would have shut better if the last grouping was the finish of six. The additional piece delayed way excessively long and had little effect Vs the principle story line.

Still massively jealous of anyone who is yet to play this game. Itís such an epic adventure/ old west life simulator.

I canít remember where I read this review (probably rps) but it talked about the only real shame being when money stops becoming a concern.

I completed about 37% in just a couple days. I thought it would all be super tedious and hard to control, but somehow it just clicked. I think the world looks stunning, thereís a huge amount of random events that end up paying off in the long run.

I like the one with the exotic animals.

Also I spent an insane amount of time walking around hunting things.

Then may I humbly suggest RDR Online. The Trader role basically turns you into a hunting legend and gives you extra kit to do it with

I lost the ďzebraĒ at one point, it ran back and I had to catch it again.

I completed the story back in January on a xbox so no intention of doing it again right now, have been getting stuck into the online and mostly racing or doing the trader role.

Tried post-patch for around 90 minutes. Definite improvement - menus work now and visuals look a bit better. Strongly suspect certain settings weren't applying before. Still having control issues though, as well as a single CTD.

Hi all. I picked up the PC version of this in the Steam sale, Iím about a third of the way through and Iím really enjoying it. I could really do with a bit of help with duels though.

Iím using mouse and keyboard (I do have a game pad but I much prefer aiming with a mouse). I understand that on console, you have to partly depress the right trigger in a duel when preparing to draw. Clearly you canít do this with a mouse, but what do you do? The on-screen instructions arenít much help - they just tell you to hold the mouse button to charge the meter, but not how to trigger the draw. Iíve won a a couple, but in one of them I got shot half a dozen times before I got the drop on my opponent, and Iím still not sure what I did differently.

Have tried googling but couldnít find much on it.

No PC players who can help me then? I read a suggestion that you have to hold the LMB, and then double-click to enter Dead Eye if the other combatant draws early? Would appreciate some confirmation though because it doesnít crop up that often.

Tried online mode for the first time since around launch and it's so good now!

Load times are only a few days and when I loaded in I had a look at the map and some gentleman walked up to me and shot me in the face. I then load back in and start with working out which buttons do what again and then someone comes up to me and stabs me to death.

I then decide to try out some matchmaking. It eventually puts me in a game but I can't play as I joined too late and makes me spectate, which is you can imagine was riveting stuff! After having too much fun watching that it takes me a while to work out how you actually quit out of that game.

I then give another type of game a go. Turns out it's a bit like a mini battle royal. However rdr2 version is definitely the best battle royal I've played. Balance at its finest, I had access to a pistol and carbine repeater. My opponents seemed to all have sniper rifles, shotguns, swords and dynamite. I had the most fun online since maybe one of the mega kill streak cod games.

Then I tried a story mission and my team mates basically did everything possible to delay the mission. Personally I was so happy with this as I got to see a beautiful sunset, rdr sunsets are even better than real life ones so I tried to add my team as PSN friends because they gave me this joyous moment I'll never forget.

After all this fun I thought I'd try one more matchmaking game and it loaded in after a while,I got me a close quarters kill after I hit him, he hit me, I hit him, he hit me and I hit him and I won!!! Then it crashed to the menu and I was shown what amazing stuff I could buy from the online store.

    Best online game eva.

@Bichii I'm honestly not trying to be the "you're playing it wrong" guy, but I've got well over 100 hours in RDR Online and I've almost never done any of the events that require matchmaking. For me it's all about jumping between the roles and unlocking new toys to play with (NB- haven't spent a dime on virtual currency, got all the roles with gold earned in-game).

You do come across the occasional wanker in freeroam but I've had way more positive interactions than negative ones, certainly less griefing than in GTA.

I had the same experience with GTA online, just load in and get killed. They should put people in prison for killing others without reason (when caught by the authorities). There needs to be a better incentive to not play like an areehole too.

I did enough on RDR online to get a 40 day streak for daily objectives on pc and got killed randomly 3 times I think, would be nice to get a server to myself easily like GTA but just joining races and doing role stuff has left me unharmed for the vast majority.

And those 40-day streaks are hands-down the easiest way of earning gold in-game and getting all the roles and battlepass (sorry, Wheeler-Rawson club) without having to spend real money.
